Types of Licenses Available
Although they are most well-known for their online casino licenses, Alderney provides licensing services to a wide array of gaming businesses. Prospective business owners can apply for a licence in Category 1 and Category 2 gaming, as well as foreign gambling certificates, core service associate certificates, and hosting certificates.
Category 1 licence is for B2C (Business to Consumer) and it enables preparation and organization of gambling operations and involves registration and verification of players, contractual relationship and management of players’ funds.
Category 2 licence is for B2B (Business to Business) and it enables effecting of gambling transactions, such as operational management of the gambling platform
The AGCC is also one of the few licensing jurisdictions that offers temporary e-gaming licenses for entrepreneurs who do not intend to offer gaming services in the long term.
Application Requirements
Online casinos who wish to be licensed by the jurisdiction of Alderney must be large, stable businesses. The AGCC will only entertain applications for a Category 1 or Category 2 online gaming license after full disclosure by the online casino, as well as a £10,000 fee. After the initial investigation, the Alderney Gambling Control Commission will audit every aspect of the prospective owner's business to prove financial stability. The owner must also prove that all equipment and software used to run the casino is secure and fair. Only after meeting these requirements can the online casino be approved for a license.
Annual Checkups
The jurisdiction of Alderney does not simply issue licenses. After a casino is approved, the AGCC will conduct routine annual audits of the online casino with equal scrutiny to the original application process. The casino must, each year, prove that they are both financially secure and providing a genuine service to players.

An Alderney license is an easy way to determine if a casino is reliable, so Alderney does its best to ensure all casinos sporting the AGCC seal of approval are genuine. Dispute Resolution
For serious player grievances, the Alderney Gambling Control Commission has the authority to act as a mediator between an online casino and a player. This service should be used as a last resort – the vast majority of disputes can be resolved simply by talking to the casino or through an affiliate such as AskGamblers.

Fill out the form with your complaint, being as detailed as possible. A representative of the Commission will get back to you as soon as possible.
