Online Bingo works very much in the same way as traditional bingo. The aim of the game is to mark off all your numbers to win the corresponding prize.

Since bingo became a hit with online casinos, more and more providers have started to introduce different variations of the game, and we’re going to talk you through them all now.

Top Bingo Sites: Play at Trusted Bingo Sites

One of the most important things to do when you’re searching for an online bingo site is check they have a licence! All the casinos listed below have been checked and verified that they have an operating licence, so you can play in safe hands.

When you bet at bingo online, you are betting with your hard-earned money; make sure you’re betting at a site you trust. Doing your research before depositing money could be the key to your success.

How to Play Bingo Online: Rules Explained

If you’ve ever played a game of bingo, playing it online is very similar. The perks of playing online are that you get more variations, and there may be more prizes and fun interactive games in the chat box.

You must purchase your bingo cards, and you will be able to pick a bingo room that suits your budget. Generally, the more expensive the bingo card is, the bigger the prizes are.

You must match the numbers on your bingo cards with the ones being drawn from the bingo machine. You win the prize if you are the first player to match them. If you and multiple other players call at the same time, you will share the prize. There will be different ways for you to win as follows:

Four Corners

Probably one of the easiest bingo combinations to achieve as you only need four numbers. The aim of the game will be to match the four corner numbers on your card with the numbers that are drawn out of the bingo machine.

Once you have all four corners marked off, you must call to win your prize. In some casinos, this will be automatically done for you.

Line

This is one of the most common combinations in a game of bingo. If four corners are not offered, this will usually be the first game you’ll play. The aim of the game will be to match all the numbers in any line before any other player to win the prize.

Full House

This is the main part of the game that usually carries the highest prize value. Sometimes this may be played on the same card as the Line and Four Corners, or you may purchase a bingo card and play for a straight Full House.

The aim of the game is to match every number of your card and call before any other player to win the prize.

Different Types of Bingo Games Online

As we mentioned before, online bingo has massively advanced over the years. There are now multiple variations to enjoy, whereas if you were to visit a bingo hall, you’d probably only find the most popular variation, 90 Ball Bingo.

Let’s take a look at the type of bingo rooms you’re about to come across:

90 Ball Bingo

As we said, this is by far the most popular game of bingo and dates back centuries. When you play 90 Ball Bingo, the numbers of your bingo card will go up to 90.

Whilst some casinos may vary how your ticket looks, usually, you will have three horizontal lines filled with numbers up to 90. If you purchase a full strip of tickets, you will have every number on your card that comes out of the machine. However, if you purchase fewer tickets, you will not have every number, up to 90, to mark off, but can still win!

75 Ball Bingo

If you play 75 Ball Bingo, the number will go up to 75, but you will play with additional winning patterns to the ones we mentioned in 90 Ball Bingo.

Your tickets also look very different. You will usually play on a 5x5 grid, with a space (no number) in the middle of the card.

Which prizes you play for depends on the casino and the provider, but you could play for:

  • Four Corners
  • Lines
  • House
  • Patterns

There may also be other prizes up for grabs too.

80 Ball Bingo

If you want something a little different to 90 and 75 Ball Bingo, then 80 Ball Bingo may be more to your liking. The rules in this game are a little different to what you may be used to, and there are multiple ways to win.

There are 80 numbered balls in this game which include:

  • Lines
  • Patterns
  • Four Corners
  • Full House

You will receive a 4x4 ticket with 16 numbers, and each column will be a different colour. The numbers up to 80 are also divided by colour into four sections

30 Ball Bingo

This is a less popular bingo variation but a smaller and quicker version of the 75 Ball Bingo. You can enjoy a rapid-fire game, and the numbered balls go up to 30.

You will play on a ticket consisting of 3 rows, 3 columns and 9 numbers and each respective column has the following set values:

  • The first column - numbered 1-10
  • The second column - numbered 11-20
  • The third column - numbered 21-30

The aim of the game remains the same, to be the first player to mark off all your numbers for the allocated prize.

What Are the Odds of Winning at Bingo?

The more cards you buy, the higher your chances are of winning, but it is important to remember to gamble responsibly

The odds of winning are pretty straightforward to work out if you know how many cards have been sold. If you buy one ticket and nine other players buy one ticket, you have a 1 in 10 chance of winning.

However, if every player bought one ticket and you bought eleven, you would increase your chances of winning to 10 in 20.

Your odds of winning also increase as more numbers are called. When only a few numbers are called, your odds of winning are very low, but these odds increase as you mark off more numbers and more numbers are called.

Playing in Bingo Halls Vs Online Bingo

The main aim of this game is the same, regardless of where you play it. However, playing bingo online is relatively easy than in a bingo hall.

If you are playing in a bingo hall, you will have to listen carefully to every number to mark them off. When you play bingo online, you will usually have the option to select your numbers to be marked automatically.

Online bingo is also more readily available. If you want to go to a bingo hall, you may only be able to attend on certain days. Playing online means you can enjoy the game from the comfort of your own home. You can also play virtual bingo through your mobile devices for even more convenience.

Online Bingo Bonuses

If by now you are ready to play online bingo, check out the bonuses that you can claim too. If you’re already familiar with casino bonuses, these work much in the same way.

Just remember that you will usually need a specific bingo bonus, and a typical casino bonus (for slots) may not allow you to place wagers on bingo.

The important thing to remember is to always check the Terms and Conditions first.
