Dolphin King

I am still determined to find a good replacement game for Playtech's Dolphin Reef. Non-playtech versions are not so good for me, because they play and pay differently, and I don't quite like it. This is another dolphin-themed game, from WGS I think. I'm not a fan of WGS, so I don't really know their list of games. Sorry if it's not from WGS though. Anyway, this game plays with 25 paylines, but isn't in the same class as Dolphin Reef. Not even close.

Dolphin is the Wild symbol, 5 of which pays 5000x the line bet, it doubles all wins with it, and substitutes for other symbols except for the Scatter symbol. The Pearl is the Scatter symbol, 5 of which pays 100x the total bet amount, but doesn't trigger any Free Spins game. Getting the Wild symbol on reel 1 and 5 at the same time triggers it. 20 free spins with all wins doubled, and the Free Spins game can be retriggered. This is quite okay, but still not good enough, in my opinion. All the other symbols in the game pay from 1500x (Nemo) to 100x, all per line bet for 5 of each kind. An average paytable.

Playing the game was rather boring, in a way, because the Free Spins game can take a long while to come. There aren't any other features or feature games to give more excitement. The Free Spins games themselves are not as exciting as those in Dolphin Reef, because Dolphin King doesn't have any Wild Reels or Stacked Wilds to add excitement or eager anticipation. The payouts from the free spins are actually quite okay and reasonable, mostly within the 20x to 40x range, but I've yet to win anything above 100x my bet amount, and this is very disappointing for me. Dolphin King is no King to me, despite what the game title says.
