I've been really quite impressed with IGT's recent output. When the company was first taken over by GTech and it's primary base of operations relocated to the UK I did worry that the quality of their games would take a hit, but in my opinion the opposite has been true.
The wild in this game doubles any winning combinations that it forms a part of, which combined with the goldify feature gives a maximum multiplier of 10x on the regular amounts listed in the games paytable. Because of this the wins shown can look very small at first, but in actual fact this is definitely a game with some reasonable big win potential. I calculated the maximum "jackpot spin" at 2,000x the total stake, which is not bad at all although possibly not high enough for those who play only mega high variance slots.
The neat thing about the Goldify feature is the fact that you can choose to make the high paying symbols gold if you wish, which will result in a smaller number of high value wins, or you can go for the symbols at the very bottom end of the paytable instead if you prefer and benefit from very frequent smaller hits. This might sound obvious perhaps, but its a crucial thing to consider when deciding which symbol you want to Goldify. I always choose the top symbols myself, and it's awesome when you get a five of a kind combination with a wild in it!
I also really appreciated the fact that hitting more than three scatters adds extra potential to your bonus round. If you hit five scatters the game rewards you with an enormous 100 free spins, which is really worth playing for and you have to be extremely unlucky not to win something half decent with so many spins! Better yet, five scatters also lets you choose five symbols to goldify for those entire 100 spins too.
I also wasn't sure why the game lists its RTP as being "between 92.2% and 96.2%", in the games paytable, however I wonder if this may perhaps be linked with choosing to play less than the maximum 40 paylines. I like having the option to play less lines sometimes, but I would definitely like to know for sure if doing so will reduce my overall RTP.
