I do have a few old favourites that I had wanted to play, like Count Spectacular for one, and Achilles another, so I gave these games some spins first. But, the games weren't in a good mood, and after not getting anything good from them, I then tried out Samba Sunset, which I have never played before. I was impressed with the nice graphics of the game, something which most other old RTG games are lacking, but I wasn't impressed by the low paytable and the low values of all the symbols. However, since the game plays with 243 ways to win, a low paytable is nothing strange at all. Not really to my liking, but it is the current trend of games nowadays.
The logo is the Wild symbol, appearing only on reels 2 and 4, but doesn't pay anything for itself, nor does it double any wins with it. That's not good at all! The Water Scenery is the Scatter symbol, paying 100x the total bet for getting 5 of them, and getting 3 or more of these scatters award 10 free spins with Increasing Dancer symbols. I was thinking of increasing Wild symbols with each free spin, but it wasn't. Only the two Dancer symbols would increase with each subsequent free spin, and therefore appearing stacked on the reels. However, wins with any Wild symbol are doubled. Getting 3 or more scatters during the free spins award 5 Super Free Spins with all wins with a Wild symbol tripled. This is the best part of the game, where the big wins could happen. The other symbols pay from 500x (Dancers) to 100x the line bet for getting 5 of each kind, which are low.
My first ever play on Samba Sunset turned out to be a good one indeed. I played several hundred spins on the game, getting poor payouts from a few of the Free Spins games, but one Free Spins game finally paid a big 331x bet win. The stacked Dancers appeared on 3 reels, but not fully stacked unfortunately, and a Wild symbol multiplied the wins by 2x. This win would have been a really big one if the Dancers were fully stacked, and with a 3x multiplier (Super Free Spins feature). Well, the potential for big wins are indeed there for the taking, and those increasing Dancer symbols could well go up to 4 full reels in the Super Free Spins game. Yeah, that would be a whopper of a win!
Samba Sunset is one of the better games from RTG, one which I only found out very recently, and one which I would definitely give more plays whenever I get to play again at any RTG casino. If you haven't tried this game yet, give it a go! Hehehe.
