Play along the vast African shoreline in Surf Safari, a wacky five-reel, 243-ways video slot from Microgaming. Catch some serious waves with giraffes, snakes, and cheetahs by your side, and you could end up with tons of cash. Surf Safari is available for free right here on this page. If you’d like to try your luck for real money, just go to any of the Microgaming casinos listed below.
When you first load the game, take the time to choose how much you want to wager. The coin size meter on the bottom allows you to set your base coin denomination. Push “Coins” to add 25 credits to your total wager, up to a maximum wager of 250 credits. Since the game uses a 243-ways structure, you don’t have to worry about managing paylines. Hit “Spin” to begin, or use “Bet Max” to play with a total wager of 250 credits.
The main game pays if you get matching symbols along adjacent reels starting with the leftmost reel. Since there are no paylines, the exact position does not matter. Wild symbols substitute for any paying combination. To trigger the Surf Safari Surf Wax Bonus, just get 3 or more Scatter symbols anywhere on the reels. During the feature, you will get to choose surf waxes to win instant cash prizes. Get lucky enough with your choices, avoid the Collect symbol, and you could win big.

Surf Safari seems to be getting quite difficult to find these days, the version on this page wasn't working when I tried it just now and I had to use the flash version of the game at 32red as it didn't seem to be present in the download client at the moment. I can't imagine there will be that many people fussing over this though as there isn't really much in the way of unique features in this game.
Graphically Surf Safari is an attractive game, the theme is a little on the quirky side and the animations are nice and smooth. All that is par for the course with Microgaming slots though, they churn out great presentation for fun on a daily basis so I don't give them as much credit for this as I would when a smaller games provider comes up with a particularly attractive title.
Like so many other Microgaming machines, Surf Safari is a 243 ways game which results in less dead spins and more frequent wins however many of the smaller combinations return truly pitiful prizes most of the time. Many of the best 243 ways games balance this out nicely be adding a tonne of big paying features to the free spins and bonus rounds however Surf Safari is much more reserved and even the top five of a kind scatter and wild combinations don't return much to get excited about.
The bonus game isn't all that much fun either, a basic Pick Me type bonus where you do your best to dodge the "Collect" items whilst collecting prizes from the remaining picks. I never seem to be very lucky with this type of bonus and find myself being booted out having only collected one or two prizes most of the time.
I'm unsure how long Surf Safari has been around, the interface doesn't look like the older Microgaming style but still seems to be showing it's age compared to the newer games from this company. I enjoyed giving it a try but didn't find anything worth coming back for in this game.
