Rhyming Reels Old King Cole is a 20-payline video slot operating on the Microgaming software feature. The wild symbol is the Old King Cole Logo, while the scatter is the Crown symbol. Players are welcome to test the game on this page free of charge or visit any of the featured Microgaming casinos to play the slot for real money.
In order to spin the colourful reels, players need to settle on their wager first. +/- alters the coin size ranging from 0.01 to 0.5. “Lines” selects the number of active paylines, while “Coins” chooses the number of coins bet. “Spin” starts the game, “Bet Max” spins the reels at the maximum wager and clicking “Expert” and then “Autoplay” automatically turns the reels for a preset number of times uninterrupted.
After each win, players can click “Gamble” to try and increase their winnings. Choosing correctly whether the face-down card is Red or Black doubles their sum. Moreover, guessing the suit correctly quadruples the amount. Guessing wrong, however, ends the feature. Players can click “Collect” at any time to save the winnings.
When 3 or more Crown icons emerge on the reels, the Free Spin feature is activated. Players are awarded 12 Free Spins. An arbitrary multiplier value is awarded for each winning Free Spin and players can win up to a x7 multiplier value. During the Free Spin round, all wins are multiplied by the random multiplier value. Free Spins can be re-triggered during the round. In Free Spins, the Record symbol is the extra wild card.
A 900-coin jackpot is awarded when 5 King icons occur on an enabled payline.

Old King Cole was a merry old soul. Well, I hope so, because this is the fourth and final game in the Rhyming Reels series, and so far, I have found only Georgie Porgie to be quite good. The other two games failed to impress me, even though I didn't really give them any long periods of playtime. I didn't need to. To me, they weren't worth spending so much more money and time just to get a better impression of the games. Now it's time to see how this merry old soul would do and could do for me.
As usual, the logo 'Rhyming Reels Old King Cole' is the Wild symbol, 5 of which pays 2500x the line bet, half of the standard value. It substitutes for other symbols except for the Scatter symbol, but doesn't do anything else. This is disappointing. Not only has its value been cut by half, it doesn't even double any wins, and it doesn't come stacked or expanded either. It's a dumb Wild symbol. The Crown is the Scatter symbol, 5 of which pays 150x the total bet, which is slightly better than the usual 100x, and getting 3, 4 or 5 of these Scatter symbols trigger 12 free spins with a random multiplier of up to 7x. More free spins can be retriggered. Quite good. The Disc is a normal symbol in the game, paying 1000x the line bet for 5 of them, but becomes an Extra Wild symbol during the free spins. Fair enough. The merry old soul King pays 900x, the Musicians pay 800x, and the others pay from 700x to 30x, all per line bet for 5 of each kind. Not quite good enough, making it an average to low paytable.
Game wise, I gave Old King Cole one reasonable play to judge its game play and payouts. Sadly enough, the Free Spins games took much too long to arrive. The first one came after about 160 spins, whilst the second Free Spins game came only after 340 spins, with payouts of 33x and 37x my bet amount. This wasn't good enough for me, and especially not good for my credits balance. When the third Free Spins game didn't come after 100 spins more, I quit playing the game. Its poor performance reminded me of Jack & Jill's game. Well, having that Extra Wild symbol didn't make much difference at all. It didn't create much new wins. The Wilds were just as bad too. Sorry Old King Cole, you may be merry in your game, but you certainly didn't bring me any merriment at all, only disappointment.
