Pure Platinum is a 40-payline video slot which runs on the Microgaming software platform. The game’s wild card is the Pure Platinum symbol and the scatter is the Record symbol. Players are welcome to test the slot on this page for free or visit any of the listed Microgaming casinos to play the game for real money.
To start spinning the luxurious platinum reels, players need to regulate their wager first. Pressing +/- changes the coin size, ranging from 0.01 to 0.5. “Lines” alters the number of active paylines and “Coins” regulates the number of coins wagered. Pressing “Spin” prompts the reels to start turning, while “Bet Max” spins them at the maximum wager. To play the game a number of times uninterrupted, one should click “Expert” and then “Autoplay”.
Any win activates the Gamble round, which players can choose to enter by clicking “Gamble”. Guessing whether the face-down card is Red or Black doubles the sum, while guessing the suit quadruples the amount. However, wrong guesses end the feature. Players can play until the gamble limit is reached. Moreover, player can collect their winnings by pressing “Collect”.
When 3 or more Record icons emerge on the reels, the Free Spin bonus game will be awarded. Players win up to 50 Free Spins an up to a x5 multiplier value. Players can pick the number of Free Spins and multiplier values they wish to play in the round. The Pure Platinum symbol is a wild card, which creates a wild stack.

Pure Platinum is as good or even better than pure gold. In value, yes, in game, no. This Pure Platinum game is yet another cloned game, using the same basic game design and concepts as many others in Microgaming's list of games, which isn't surprising at all. Microgaming games are 99% like that. Most games are merely clones, and only a very few are original games, but even so, its features are usually similar to some other games from other game providers. Yes, this works vice versa too, but it doesn't really matter who followed who. Trying to find a really original game is like finding a needle in a haystack, but having said that, Fruit Warp from Thunderkick is one of these very very few non-cloned games. In fact, original non-cloned games can only be found with lesser-known game providers, like Thunderkick for example, and recently also from Xatronic (Kajot) too. All other games tend to be a clone in one way or another, and this can really be boring. Pure Platinum included.
The logo 'Pure Platinum' is the Wild symbol, 5 of which pays a very low 1000x the line bet. It comes stacked on all reels in both the base game and in the Free Spins game, and substitutes for other symbols except for the Scatter symbol. The Scatter symbol pays the usual 100x the total bet for 5 of them, and getting 3, 4 or 5 of these Scatter symbols trigger the Free Spins game, with a choice of 3 separate games to choose from - 10 free spins with a 5x multiplier, 25 free spins with a 2x multiplier, or 50 free spins with a 1x multiplier. More free spins cannot be retriggered. The 50 free spins choice looks good, but the 1x multiplier can be disappointing most of the time. The top 3 symbols in the game pay 750x, the Watch pay 500x and the others pay from 200x down to 50x, all per line bet for 5 of each kind. This paytable would be suitable for a 243-ways game, but for a 40-paylines game of Pure Platinum, this is very low indeed. Not to my liking yet again.
Have you played other Microgaming games that have such similar traits? Games like, Football Star, Rugby Star, Cricket Star, Break Away, Cool Wolf, and several more. All using the same stacked Wilds on all reels, and all having very low paytables too. None of these games have been a favourite of mine, simply because I cannot get any good wins from them, and my plays on Pure Platinum went the same way too. The payouts that I have gotten so far were pretty low ones, with a few decent ones, but none of the big good ones. Payouts that were below 10x my bet amount, payouts that were around 15x to 30x my bet amount, and a few that exceeded the 50x mark, but only one win that paid 124x my bet amount. All these were achieved over a few thousand spins played, and those are low payouts indeed. Pure Platinum is okay to play, but cannot make it into my favourite list.
