Just as Cayetano Gaming has manufactured incredibly innovative and attractive slots,

it has also created slots completely average and that is the case of Reel Fish, a slot of nice design inspired by the aquatic world that seems to have nothing more to offer than a nice design, its layout is 5 x 3 reels, 25 paylines and its payouts are nothing like a real promise and despite of having a round of free spins, a bonus round and expandable wild symbol, the constant feeling of one as player while playing this slot, it is like to be throwing coins into a water’s well, it may even seem more exciting to sit and watch a fish tank for hours than pressing the spin button of this game over and over again. I know this seems like a very radical position about this slot, but it happens every time I've given a chance to this slot, the experience has been quite disappointing, and more from Cayetano that has many interesting slots that sometimes are very funny and sometimes even also profitable, which apparently lacks this slot of, and that seems to be not only my appraisal, but also from a great majority of players on Internet, different to gambling affiliates, of course.

The expandable wild is usually a feature I usually love in a slot, but its performance in "Reel Fish" was unfortunate because rarely it has helped me to get a significant gain, many of its appearances are futile and virtually all other they might be considered inconsequential. The round of free spins seems to be the characteristic with the most potential in the game just as wrote on information section that says it has self-nudget and random wilds attached to the feature, aspects that are very good in theory but honestly I do not know how it will be in practice since access to this feature has become a real challenge for me in each of my playing sessions, the bonus round is a feature easy to be accessed, and sometimes, though few, I've won awards decent enough to not complain much about it, of course it could be better but for me it just merely reasonable.

I deeply respect the work of Cayetano Gaming, so I think the best advice I can give you is you should take a look closely at the portfolio of slots of this provider and I promise you'll find several more satisfactory games than this one.

Reel Fish is another slot which can give us a little adventurous memory as it leads us to underwater world and gives us a chance to discover the secret life of deep ocean. The graphics could be a little more impressive as I don’t find the appearance of this game as attractive as other products’ with the same theme but this interface fortunately still has got some pictorial elements what I can love. For example the background image is very nice especially with the used colours what make it better-looking and create a more or less authentic environment for the game. My main concern here is the applied symbols and their illustration style. Even though this is an ocean themed slot but surprisingly there is just one fish figure which is very cute and in my opinion this is the most beautiful symbol here which is prove that more fishes or other animals would have been a welcomed play icon on the reels and they not just would have done the overall visual experience more likeable but also could have made the screen a little bit more diversified and coloured. The others like treasure chest, diving helmet and card elements are not bad or ugly but with their just decent looking they can’t increase the pictorial effects like seahorse does and naturally can’t make me smile like the cute seahorse does. Eventually, this appearance is not that bad but there’s potential in this theme and its pictorial realization which isn’t showed and used up here and that’s why visually the slot can’t break out of the ‘average’ caste.

The game itself is a very moderate but honest product where no one should chase for any remarkable, life changing wins here but it’s appropriate to spend our times in a fair environment. The most what a line win can provide is no more than just 1000 times of line bet and the paying capabilities of other winning combinations are just bearable. My best spin during normal game came when the second and fourth reels became Wild entirely and 4 Diver Helmet figures also were shown resulting three different 5 of a kind type wins and for my €1 bet I could pocket around €22.

The slot is working along with a well-adjusted expanding Wild symbol which sadly has no power to multiply wins but at least we have no reason to complain about its appearing tendency. Three or more special Free Spins symbols of course activate the feature which consists of randomly chosen number of games – 8-12, 12-17 or 17-30 spins – depending on the number of triggering symbols. There a little fish buddy appear which is swimming across the reels while they’re spinning and may turn any reel into expanding Wilds or nudge them to help us to achieve more wins but just like the entire game this feature also has own limits and the rewarding habits here are just so-so.

The traditional bonus is triggered at randomly regardless what can be seen on the table but to be honest sometimes I feel a little anger because of its activating method. A little shell can be seen on the table and at first I thought it is just a decoration element but once it came to the center position of the focus are asking ‘Bonus time?’ then it walked away and the normal game session continued. This irritating process was repeatedly 6 or 8 times more when finally I got an entry to the bonus round where the player is carried over to a secondary screen where 4 fishes have own treasures and one after the other they’re revealed by the help of customer who must pick among the shown treasure chests, vase, mirrors or other items. There’s one item that reveals an x5 multiplier value meaning the collected amount here will be multiplied at the end of the bonus game but I have never had that success to find this treasure. It’s not a too open handed secondary game as I could never manage to win more than 15 times of my total bet and I think this feature like basically the entire game should offer me more in moneywise standpoint.

Anyway, this slot is a nice, decent little game where the main strength is the pleasant atmosphere what it creates but considering it as a real good gambling product, sorry, but I don’t think so. The not too great rewarding power both the normal game mode and at the features really shows the limits of the game and a video slot that isn’t able to present any real high end prize what could motivate customers and would make their play sessions very entertaining in my opinion doesn’t possess all that qualities what need to have to qualify to the ‘great game’ label.

Lately AskGamblers has become extremely generous with new games. There are 5-10 new games that make the front page of the site every day. Thus I started myself to become a bit picky when I choose which slots to play. The same is true about the reviews I chose to write. If the slot is too weak and is overly boring me, I give up and I do not write a review for it.

But “Reel Fish” is almost a good slot for its 25 paylines. I say “almost good” considering that many slots from Cayetano casinos have big quality gaps and so far only "Penguins" I found to be fully satisfying. “Reel Fish” is like a “Dolphin Reef” from Microgaming. Not great, but better than average. What lured me very much here is that I almost felt like in a Jacque Cousteau underwater journey. The ocean full reefs and the fish diversity are magnificent. The Symphony of colors that you see in the background of the game (and in the Wild symbol when it expands) is perfect. It is like you walk directly on the ocean floor. You can see such things only on TV!

The sensation made by the game to the player is full of joy, and at every spin the player is waiting to have a Sea Horse (the Extended Wild) or he looks eager to see if the shell from the left side of the screen will start walking to give him a Bonus Game. Yes because the Wild is extended, with some luck and 3 Wilds you will get a “Mega Win” of about 10 to 20 Pounds (at 25 pence bet this is a big amount of money). As welcome are the 5 Bonus games brought by the jumping shell when you expect the less. Regarding the payouts it seemed to me that the 10 symbols (even minor ones) pay here more than other slots. It is true wins are rare sometimes, but also they are pretty consistent.

As a specific characteristic of the slot, all 5 reels are spinning up in the direction of air bubbles that rise to the surface (i.e. they spin upwards). The slot is almost good for its underwater beauty and for the joy it brings to players. At the end, after 250 spins although I lost about 20 pounds (a lot, it's true) and even I never played the Free Spins, I was pleased with my game here.
