The Lost Princess Anastasia is a 25-payline video slot running on the Microgaming software platform. The game features the Romanoff family and their lost princess, which is why the wild card is the Anastasia symbol and the Bonus Crown is the game’s scatter icon. Players can try the slot on this page for free or they can choose any of the Microgaming casinos from the listings to play the game for real money.
In order to meet the royal Romanoff family and Rasputin, players need to select their bet first. The +/- buttons regulate the coin value ranging from 0.01 to 0.1. “Lines” adjusts the number of enabled paylines and “Coins” alters the number of coins wagered. While “Spin” starts the game, “Bet Max” turns the reels at the highest available wager. In order to play the game a number of times without interruption, “Expert” and then “Autoplay” should be pressed.
3 or more Crown symbols activate 5 Free Spins. After each spin, a random number of symbols are transformed into wild icons. During this round, another set of Free Spins can be won.
A 2,000-coin jackpot will be awarded when 5 Anastasia wild cards emerge on an enabled payline.

For me it is somewhat strange to see a video slot based on the story of a tragedy, however, and oddly enough, “Microgaming” has based the theme of “The Lost Princess Anastasia” on the sad history of persecution and subsequent events occurred to last members of the Romanov dynasty, a situation that after its ending, it would eventually give rise to the rumor about the survival of Anastasia, the youngest daughter of Tsar Nicholas II.
White and other light colors predominate on the cold design of this game, and music used in sound effects corresponding to a song from a music box, which very probably ends up being part of this game because in the animated film “Anastasia” of 1997, it appears a music box which is a gift that Anastasia receives from her grandmother; and thanks to the film, this fictional object is finally becoming so popular that today we can buy Anastasia's Music Boxes on many online shops including Amazon and eBay.
As such, this slot has been a totally disappointing game for me; during my session with this game I remember forming few lines involving symbols of Empress, Tsar, Rasputin, or Faberge egg; which means that my payouts during the base game were almost miserable, and in my mind all the time it was about the idea that this game was more an alphabet soup puzzle than a video slot.
Free games do not seem to be very affordable too, it took me almost 300 turns to gain access to this feature for the first time, and frankly, I do not think it worthwhile to place our hopes in this round since 5 is not a very generous number of free spins and the feature in charge of converting ordinary symbols into wilds it has not seemed really strong to me because only during one of my free spins I got 5 of those wilds with the image of an ice cube, during the other 4 games I got between 1 and 3 wilds distributed in a no very beneficial way for me.
In my opinion, “The Lost Princess Anastasia” is a slot to forget, the subject that was chosen for its theme does not seem to be the most appropriate, but worse, as personally I experienced, it is its poor hit average that eventually ends up making it a very tight slot. My recommendation is to skip this slot and keep on seeking.
