LIKED
I've never been a fan of SoftSwiss games. I've played a few of their older games like Aztec magic, Mermaid Pearls, and a few more, but found those games uninteresting and with low payouts generally. However, there are a few acceptable and playable games, but I've not delved much into them. One or two plays and that was it. Ever since SoftSwiss started providing their own games platform to other casinos, I gave them another go and have not really complained about it so far. In fact, I'm even beginning to play more of their games lately. Slotomon Go is one of their new releases in 2016, playing with only 5-paylines, but I've already played it a few times.
The first obvious thing about Slotomon Go is the very old looking graphics employed in the game. Why SoftSwiss never bothered to use better quality graphics is really beyond me, even though the game can be interesting enough for players to play. Why? Simply because it plays like the popular Novomatic's Book of Ra Deluxe game, with a random scattering symbol in the Free Spins game. This game concept has proven to be effective in providing good wins of over 200x the total bet amount, with occasional higher wins at the right time. I didn't know at first that Slotomon Go plays like the Book of Ra Deluxe, until I started playing it, first with free spins winnings, then with real deposited and bonus money. Well, it went slow and rather dull at first, until the Free Spins games started coming. That's when the excitement began.
The Yellow Gem is the Wild and Scatter symbol, 5 of which pays an excellent 1500x the total bet amount. Yes, you read that correct. 1500x the total bet amount, and that is huge! It also substitutes for all symbols. Getting 3 or more of these Yellow Gems anywhere on the reels trigger 10 free spins with a Random Scattering symbol. Pity the game plays with only 5 paylines, as opposed to the usual 10-paylines of Novomatic games, which could provide much bigger wins in Slotomon Go. Well, maybe SoftSwiss is merely testing the water for now, afraid to go all the way, in case someone breaks their bank, hehehe. The Monkey pays 5000x the line bet and the others pay from 2000x to 100x the line bet, for 5 of each kind. An excellent paytable from SoftSwiss!
I've played Slotomon Go maybe about 3 or 4 times only so far, but I'm interested to give it more plays in the future. Despite playing with only 5-paylines, the game can be quite adrenaline-pushing too, with excitement and eager anticipation, just as you would get when playing Book of Ra Deluxe and other similar games. Not as much, but sufficient enough to get you thrilled, and that's important. The best payout I've had so far is 124x my bet amount, which is not bad at all, but the others are usually within 20x to 30x range.
DISLIKED
There are only 2 things that I don't like about this Slotomon Go game. Firstly, the awful looking graphics and symbols, all of which are looking very old indeed, lacking in vibrancy and aesthetics. Secondly, the 5-paylines. Argh! Why not just follow the accepted trend of 10-paylines? 5-paylines games are blardy hard to win, and none of any 5-paylines games have gone better than a borderline or lower rating, Slotomon Go included, which is a great pity!
