Silver Unicorn is not a new game. It's been around for many years and I've played it on and off over the years, without getting to like it much. It's a 20-paylines game from Rival, with the usual Free Spins feature, but with a Bonus Round within the free spins, not separately as in the usual way. I thought this Bonus Round would be similar to any of the Super Round Free Spins within the Free Spins game, but it turned out it wasn't. It was just a simple 'Match-and-win' memory game, needing to match up all the 6 different symbols to win a cash prize at the end of it. This isn't too bad actually, because the final prize is up to 40x the total bet amount, which is reasonable enough.
The Unicorn is the Wild symbol in the game, appearing only on reels 1, 3 and 5. It doesn't pay anything for itself, but doubles all wins with it, and expands into a Wild Reel, substituting other symbols except the Scatter and the Bonus symbols. During the free spins, the Wild pays 3x for all wins. The Purple Flower is the Scatter symbol, a dumb symbol that doesn't pay anything for itself, but getting 3, 4 or 5 of them triggers 10, 20 or 50 free spins but without any multiplier. All my previous plays on this SIlver Unicorn game were rather disappointing, and my recent plays on it too proved to be no different. The low paytable is bad enough, producing only low to mediocre wins in the base game, but my biggest disappointment is in the Free Spins games. 10 free spins, without any multiplier, hoping only for the Wild symbol to triple all wins, but this Wild symbol hardly ever appear at all, and very seldomly create wins too. Looking back at my notes, 10 Free Spins games paid between 1x to 3x my bet amount, 3 Free Spins games paid between 5x to 30x, and only 1 lousy Free Spins game paid a decent 80x my bet amount, which came from getting 2 rounds of the Bonus game within the free spins. And that was the best I could achieve from this SIlver Unicorn game. Overall result is still a huge disappointment!
