Shamrock Isle Slot

Leprechauns are supposed to be good luck, or bring good luck, but for me, a lot of Leprechaun-themed games have not been good at all, except for this Shamrock Isle game. Hmm, maybe one lucky Leprechaun is all that I can have, or entitled to get, but that's okay, as long as I do have one good Leprechaun game. This is an oldie game, has been around for more than 10 years, and I've played it for that length of time too, ever since it was still new. Shamrock Isle is one of my top 3 favourite Rival games, along with Secret Garden and Best Of Luck, which none of the newer Rival games could displace as yet.

The Leprechaun is the Wild symbol in this game, paying a nice 5000x the line bet for getting 5 of them. It doubles all wins with it, it substitutes for other symbols except the Scatter and Bonus symbols, and expands into a Wild Reel during the free spins, but appearing only on reels 1, 2 and 3, not appearing on all reels as in the base game. What a shame! The Harp is the Scatter symbol, a dumb symbol that doesn't pay anything for itself, but getting 3, 4 or 5 of them triggers 10, 20 or 125 free spins with all wins tripled. Yes, 125 free spins with a 3x multiplier, and the Free Spins game can be retriggered too. Marvellous! Yes, the retriggers are for real, they do come quite oftenly, and many times too, not like Microgaming's retriggers which are mostly just empty promises.

The Black Pot is the Bonus symbol, the second dumb symbol in this game, but getting 3 or more of them triggers the Bonus Round, whereby you pick-and-grab 3, 4 or 5 coins to win cash prizes. Don't know how many coins can be won in this Bonus Round, but I've won between 15x up to 50x my bet amount. I quite like this Bonus Round game. As for the other symbols, the Crown pays 750x, the Unicorn pays 500x, the Clover Leaf pays 400x, and the rest pay from 200x to 65x, all per line bet for getting 5 of each kind.

During the free spins, the Wild symbol appears only on reels 1, 2 and 3, but it expands into a Wild Reel with any wins. I've had a few times of the 3 Wild Reels, which paid good wins, but I cannot remember now how big they were. Must have been more than 250x the total bet amount, I would say. Pity the Wild symbol doesn't appear on all reels, otherwise this game would fall into the same top category as a few 5-Wild-Reelers game. I also like the retriggers which could come a few times within a Free Spins game, and I've had 4 or 5 retriggers so far, if not more. Shamrock Isle is still one of my current favourites, despite being an old game, but don't let being an oldie game ever fool you!

Shamrock Isle is video slot with 5 reels and 20 pay lines. It is powered by Rival software provider. I played it a long time ago while I was playing at Rival casinos. Mostly with no deposit bonuses. I rarely make deposit into Rival casinos just because I do not have big trust at them. And the second reason is because I do not like Rival slots so much.

This one has free spins feature and bonus game. The free spins feature starts when you get at least three harps symbols. Here you can get up to 125 free spins – if you trigger the feature with all five scatter symbols. When I played it, I triggered free spins a couple of times. During this feature winnings are at x3 multiplier. Well even if there is x3 multiplier, I never had any descent win from it. Most of the time I got only small winnings around x10 bet. I don’t think this is good at all, I expected higher winnings here.

Bonus game is quite better for me. When I triggered bonus game I won more from it than from free spins feature. When you trigger the bonus game you can choose from three different bonus games there – but in all those games you win cash prizes.

Otherwise I am sure I will not play it again, I did not like it so much because of small payouts. During main game I never had any bigger win of x5 my bet. Most of the time my winnings were even less than my bet amount which is ridiculous. The bonus game is quite ok, I had good winnings from it. But once again there is free spins feature where I expect higher, better payouts at x3 multiplier. I will rate it with 5 stars.

Shamrock Isle is another Irish themed slot game and of course green is everywhere. The interface is not bad but for my taste the symbols are crammed. The card symbols could have been smaller giving some space between icons and a better look, The forest background is nice as well the game sound (the bird chirping and other animal noises and gurgle of brook are all fit well and relaxing players). It uses the very common figures as an Irish game could have like pot of gold, shamrock, leprechaun, harp and in my opinion artistically nothing’ wrong with them. If there’s a concern about this slot I guess it doesn’t relate to the exterior.

This is a very simple 20-payline slot with the minimal requirements what a player could expect from a modern gambling product. What else than Wild is the top paying symbol with the ability to reward customer with a 5000 times of line bet during normal play. Fortunately, it can double the winnings and in free spins it becomes an expending wild but just not to be everything perfect, at that stage the Wild loses its multiplier power and appears only on the firs 3 reels.

I hate this situation when what one hand gives the other takes away. Why wouldn’t let this figure to behave like it does in base mode? This would make the slot more interesting and tempting for players. Anyways, the free spins didn’t remain without plus multiplier as every wins is counted at triple value. Harp icon is liable to start it and in extreme situation it can be 125 spins.

The bonus game is a good one. Three Pots of Gold symbol trigger it and we can see the magical forest in full view without the reels and listen some sweet flute melodies. From time to time golden coins pop up on the screen and with the help of a white hand have to pocket tem before the green hand of leprechaun does it. Though it’s a simple collect type game but I like this little competition and how the player is involved.

Shamrock Isle is an average slot in my eyes with good qualities but some rooms to improve. A little modification at graphics and restore Wild’s rights during free games would be a nice addition but until then it wouldn’t be out from my ‘middle quality-level’ rate.
