This A Switch In Time is one of the good ones, if you haven't played it already, although winning from it is a totally different matter, so luck would play an important role whenever you play this game!

The game plays with the usual 20 paylines, the Free Spins games have 3 different time modes - Present, Past and Future, with 3x, 2x and 1x multipliers respectively. Why this difference in multipliers, I cannot figure out, but it certainly made a big difference in the payouts from the free spins. Needless to say, the Present mode being the best of the three modes, and the Future being the worst.

The Time Explorer is the highest paying regular symbol, at 1895x the line bet for 5 of him, but the other symbols have much lower values of 400x down to 65x the line bet, but still making for a good paytable on the whole.

As I have said earlier on, you really need good luck to win on this game. If the free spins are playing in the Future mode, for example, the wins only have a 1x multiplier, and most of my disappointing Free Spins games were in this mode. The Past mode is slightly better, with its 2x multiplier, but I always prefer the Present mode with its 3x multiplier. However, these modes are automatically changed after each Free Spins game, so there's no chance of sticking with the Present mode all the time.

Nonetheless, A Switch In Time can be an exciting game to play, provided you don't get stuck in its dry run period. There were times when those Free Spins games paid a zero win, or almost zero, and more than half the time, the payouts were less than 20x the total bet. However, my best win so far is 248x, so that's a pretty decent good win, if I may say so. With better luck with the free spins, bigger wins are definitely possible, but I wouldn't really know how big the wins can be. Theoretically, getting 5 Wilds with a 3x multiplier would pay a nice 1018x total bet amount, so that's probably the best single win anyone can expect out of this game. That's still much better than what newer games nowadays can pay!

At first I didn't know what to expect from this game, because time travelling theme is hard to pull off, it's wide and I was surprised to see such diversity in the design Rival has put into this game. It looks cool and is fun, after this bonus you will go back to present time. That bonus is like a mission for the past time. But in the future bonus round you get to kill aliens and the future time has amazing design with robotic theme.
My favorite part is the present and there's a simple reason for that- in all times you can get free spin rounds that are triggered by 3 or more scatters. When I recently played this slot, I retriggered the spins few times and overall played 57 free spins. That's one of the biggest number of free spins I have experienced. The result was little over 90x bet, so of course I was expecting more.Also, the more scatters you get the more spins you play and the higher multiplier you get. This game also has wilds and in free spins those wilds appear only on reel 1 and are expanding.

I like this game a lot because it shows me something interesting I haven't seen before. Graphics are good and design is really well done. Bonus rounds come quite easily and so far I haven't lost a penny playing this game, even when I hit a dry run, when I finally get bonus round, it gives enough to get me back on my feet. I really like the theme with this game and I have spent a lot of time playing it. The graphic, sound and animations are slight better than in most other Rival slot games. But unfortunately here stop all the qualities of this slot. Perhaps, with much generosity I should mention the fact that the value of half the wins is a just bit bigger than the total bet (30-40 cents a total bet of 20 cents). The other half of the wins are worth only 2-5 cents, and when a win (regardless its value) is given less frequently than once every 4 spins, this means that no matter how you play here you will still lose 30-40 Euro in 15-20 minutes (200-300 spins) even playing at the minimum bet (20 cents).

Like almost any “standard” slot, the game includes a Free Spins round and a Bonus Game, both being triggered with great difficulty. In 300 spins I entered only once in Free spins (12 in number with 3 x multiplier) and got just a small win of a few Euros. The Bonus Game was like it never existed, and after 20 minutes, the losses were so big that the wins from the Bonus Game would not even count no matter whether or not I had this Bonus.

To repeat myself, the slot has its own charm and because of this one gets bored somewhat later from playing it, but in my opinion everyone playing here will lose in 90% of cases. This is a game with a very beautiful theme but of the weakest possible quality.

The last time I played this game I used some no deposit bonus and I can say that luck wasn't quite on my side. I got the free spins bonus twice and the first time my win was about 13 euros on a 1 euro bet and the second time I got the free spins my win was only about 3 euros. One of the first cars that looks like a stage coach or let’s say a symbol of an old pocket watch. The second period stretches to the far past.Here you have fire, weapons from carved stone and also long extinct animals. I especially like the bonus round at the end of this story where you kill dinosaurs that attack you. Everything ends with the third story where you have robots, flying saucers, etc. All of that takes you to the distant unknown future. Payouts can sometimes be really big and that’s another reason why I play this game with so much passion and excitement.

Overall – A switch in time is a really fun game but I advise you to be cautious about choosing your casino because some of the Rival casinos have a bad reputation. I give this game a 9/10.
