Diamond Dragon is one of the last games that I have explored. I am a big fan of everything that involves dragons so that was the main reason of my curiosity. I have tried this game a few times now and have grown some love-hate relationship.

This game is powered by Rival software and I have to say that lately they have been stepping up their game when it comes to game designs. The game has dragon symbols, princess, prince, warrior, letter symbols and diamonds.

Technically the game has 5 reels and 50 paylines and it makes the minimum bets 0.50$ per spin. However, in this game the pay lines are flexible so you can adjust them. This game has 2 types if bonus features and I feel like it is just the right amount to keep a player entertained.

The most common bonus is pick bonus and here you get it when you trigger 3 diamond symbols. Than you get to choose one of the symbols and coin win is revealed. I think that my best win was 50x my bet, which isn't bad yet isn't great either.

The second bonus feature that is the only one worth waiting for is the free spins round. For 3 scatters you get 10 free spins. The spins themselves have no multiplier, but the wild symbol here multiplies wins 2x. But there’s a catch- if you get 3 more bonus symbols in the free spins, you receive 5 super games and that’s when you get great winnings, because the wilds can appear to all reels except 5, and this time they multiply winnings 3x. I have to say that it can be quite hard to trigger the super games and I have got them a few times only and in my experience the spins can also be empty, but my best win sits at 70x bet.

Overall this is a decent game from Rival software. I think that the payouts are average and most likely you won’t see a 1000x bet win there, but I find this game to be decent option for wagering as the wilds help to get small regular wins. At the same time this game can be expensive with it’s high minimum bets and the overall average payouts.

Diamond Dragon is the one of the newest video slots released by Rival software. Most of the Rival video slots released in the last 2 years come with 5-reels and 50- paylines. Instead of talking about design and graphics I am going to use just a one word to describe it and it’s .. perfect!

Unlike other new releases this video slot offer more features. Let me explain them. Once the Wild symbols occur on your screen it becomes staked on the reel. While in base game , Wild can appear only on the reel 1 and 2. During Free Spins feature it appears on the reel 1,2 and 3. In so called ‘super round’ Wild appears on the reel 1,2,3 and 4. In order to trigger FS feature you must collect 3 or more Scatter symbols. If you collect 3 Scatters you will be awarded 10 FS, for 4 Scatters you get 20 and finally for collecting 5 Scatters you get 50 FS. Quite amazing to me and I love it. In order to trigger ‘Super Bonus’ you must collect 3 or more Scatters during FS feature. And finally lets say something about ‘Diamond Pick Bonus’ which is a pretty disappointing as it seems to be classic ‘pick up bonus’, not the one I like no excitement at all there. From my experience this round paid me 30 x my total bet. Its nothing. I need to make few more hundreds of spins in order to make my opinion so far I can tell that I thing that Diamond Dragon slot has capability to pay big but I had no success so far.

My last session lasted 1 hour and I’ve triggered FS several times. And I also triggered ‘Diamond Pick’ bonus. But without any decent wins which would increased my balance. I’ve played with 0.5 cent bet per spins and I was in minus 70 euro. I enjoyed playing this slot but it cost my pocket money.

Rival software has released quite a few new games recently, and this Diamond Dragon is one of them. Becoming the norm nowadays for new Rival games, it plays with 50 paylines, with a minimum starting bet 0f 0.50 per spin, which I'm not really in favour of. Nothing like the good old 15, 20 or 25 paylines games, which doesn't need twice as much starting bankroll to start playing. With a $25 starting amount, for example, all you can get is merely 50 spins, or a little bit more, depending on how the game pays. Just when your butts are warming up, all your credits would have run out already. No fun at all. So I always avoid playing 50 paylines games, unless I have a fairly big sufficient starting amount, like with a nice big deposit bonus for example. Software providers would prefer this 50 paylines because they can get twice as much revenue from the games. Good for them, hardly any good for players.

In Diamond Dragon, the Dragon is the Wild symbol, it doesn't pay anything for itself, it appears only on reels 1 and 2 in the base game, but expands into a Wild Reel with any wins, and substitutes for other symbols except the Scatter and the Bonus symbols. It is still considered a dumb Wild symbol in my books, because it doesn't do enough good in the base game, being the most important symbol in any game. In the Free Spins game, the Wild symbol expands on reels 1, 2 and 3, doubling all wins with it, whilst in the Super Round free spins, it expands on reels 1, 2, 3 and 4, tripling all wins with it. So it is possible to get 4 full Wild Reels in the Super Round free spins, which should be able to provide good big wins at the right time.

The Golden Axe is the Scatter symbol, another dumb symbol which doesn't pay anything for itself, but getting 3, 4 or 5 of them awards 10, 20 or 50 free spins without any multiplier. During the free spins, getting 3 or more of the non-paying Silver Axe Scatter symbols award 5 Diamond Dragon Super Round free spins, which can be retriggered, but not the initial Free Spins game. Additionally, the Diamond is the Bonus symbol, appearing only on reels 1, 3 and 5 in the base game, awarding an instant cash prize by picking 1 of the 3 Diamond symbols. As for the other symbols in the game, the Purple Potion pays 600x, the Silver Cup pays 500x, the Lady pays 400x, the 3 Man symbols pay 300x, 160x and 120x, and the others pay from 100x to 20x, all per line bet for 5 of each kind. A very low paytable.

I truly do not like Rival's 10 free spins without any multiplier offering. Most of the time, those 10 free spins would be empty, or paying out very little, only hoping for the 5 extra Super Round free spins to give out good wins, which hardly ever happens anyway. Getting those Super Round free spins isn't easy at all, and at times, they don’t even pay anything, which was exactly what happened in the only Free Spins game that I could get playing this game. The initial 10 free spins paid peanuts, followed by that 5 Super Round free spins which paid absolutely nothing! The final payout was a blardy low 2x my bet amount! Not even worth wasting my time and money in chasing the Free Spins game. A very disappointing game indeed.
