Masques of San Marco is a superb video slot game from IGT. I have played this game couple of days ago and I am still excited of the whole gaming experience. At first I was attracted by the theme and the lovely Venice in the background. This game is powered with the free fall feature which works its magic during the free spins. The wins during the base game even with the free fall feature are nothing special, but during the free spins they are amazing. I remember I was just looking at my balance and the numbers were going up all the time and I was still in my first spin, simply breathtaking.

Masques of San Marco is a bit different when it comes to its structure. This is a dual play video slot game which is played in a 6 x 6 square. The boxes are separated, but you actually play with both of them so they have 20 pay lines each and 40 in total.

So basically when you start playing the Masques of San Marco slot you have the feeling that you get many free spins without any effort thanks to the collapsing reels. Every time you land a win, those symbols that are part of a winning combination disappear and new ones come into place. In this game they disappear with a firework which is visually great. In theory this can go forever but in reality it ends pretty soon. During the base game I did not have any good wins; actually I had good wins but nothing huge. This game shows its potential during the free spins. During this feature the collapsing reels are going on forever. The first time I triggered the free spins I won 140 euros from the first spin only. I ended the bonus with 260 euros. This is a very powerful video slot game which is definitely worth trying.

I saw somewhere that the slot "Masques of San Marco" of "IGT" had a very high rating and that was the main reason why I decided to try this game, even though understanding that slots using the feature "Dual Play Free Fall Symbols "are not much to my liking because most of them, at least those I already know, have a some poor paytable because it is expected that new lines are formed after more symbols fall, eventually making the game slow and not so productive the vast majority of times, not to mention that this slot in particular is one that uses a theme full of mystical symbols like moons, stars, suns and others that to be honest sometimes they are even annoying to me, it must be because I do not remember having played a single slot on a similar topic in which I am gone moderately well, maybe it is not superstition but I think the frustration produced by such kind of slots have been recorded in my instinct.

It would be unfair to say that "Masques of San Marco" is a slot that simply eats all your coins in the blink of an eye because this is not true, the truth is that this game seems to have a medium level of variance that allows your balance remains relatively stable over an acceptable time, perhaps in a very long time you may start to notice some deficits in your balance, or if you're lucky enough you may even see reflected some few gains on it, why not.

The most important feature we can find here is the round of 6 free spins, which is triggered when three bonus symbols appear on the same active payline, aspect that I found particularly annoying when I was playing because I believe that "IGT" could not devise another activation mechanism more difficult than this one, at least they could have set more scatters circulating on first 3 reels. However, this round of free spins is quite interesting because during it two slots, that are separated during the base game, come together to form a large slot of 5 x 6 reels, and in the process 20 new paylines are added.

Although this video slot seems to be a good alternative to try clearing some bonuses, I think I will continue steadfast in my decision about not to include slots using the dual Play feature in my list of favorites.

Masques of San Marco is a very interesting game and foremost because of the arrangements of the screen basically we can play here with two 5-reel slot game at the same time and these two slots are placed one above the other. I must say the realization of design is in correct structure and they really made a good job with it as I think the final appearance of the slot is very attractive. Surely the carnival atmosphere what the slot creates was helpful because the lot of decorative motives and the uncountable tint of colors just increase the pictorial effects. The pictograms the game uses as symbols are also nice and well-drawn and what else they can illustrate than masks, costumes and charming little moon and sun emblems. I really got nothing against this displaying techniques and I really like how this slot looks like.

This 40-payline slot doesn’t use the traditional ‘spinning reels’ method much rather the ‘falling symbol’ format which means if a win is occurred the participating symbols disappear and all of the emblem above them fall down one spot giving a chance for newcomers at the top row and another wins to be completed. To be honest I’m not really a fan of this system because I find it better sounding feature than what in reality I experience. There are very few times when the new arrangements would bring such kind of win that it really would be worth of using this feature.

Of course it makes a little bit more exciting this solution here, where there are 2 slot screens and that’s why there’s the possibility to have more such wins as the falling symbols can influence not just 3 but 6 rows too. The best paying line pays max. 5000 coins and though the slot uses Wild symbols but it hasn’t any attached plus function than the replacing one so it can’t multiply the wins and doesn’t pay in itself and sadly it just can appear on the 3 middle reels.

The game also offers free spins in traditional format what we can see after getting 3 Bonus symbols on the first 3 reels of an active payline and then 6 free games are awarded. It’s not too much but during free spins additional +20 paylines become automatically active increasing the chance for winning and these plus paylines affects both playing boards as the lines touch both the top and bottom games. It’s nice to have such add-on's but I still would prefer to have win multiplier value or any Wild related extra function at this segment.

I really appreciate this new, innovative gaming solution and at least at the beginning of the introductory sessions it really makes the game enjoyable and very exciting. Based in my experience the paying ability of the game is very average when no real big win are likely coming out frequently but the smaller and medium level wins occurs from time to time. This slot doesn’t seem to have real negative things even though it also hasn’t the ability to surprise us in any positive ways but it’s a solid slot and players can spend some entertaining times with it.
