GambleAware's New Funding Schemes Put Recovery from Gambling Harm in Focus

The leading UK gambling charity, GambleAware, recently launched two major funding programs focused on enabling people to sustain their recovery from gambling harm and helping communities affected by the cost-of-living crisis.

The Aftercare Funding Programme and the Community Resilience Fund will support GambleAware's work further across the UK in helping those most at risk of gambling harm and reducing health inequalities in the most vulnerable communities.

The Aftercare Funding Programme

The £2 million-worth Aftercare Funding Programme (AFP) is looking for applications for projects which will provide support services to include more people in recovery from gambling harm.

Current partners and new charities and organisations will be able to apply for the fund, with smaller organisations or pilot projects being awarded up to £150,000, and larger organisations or projects can apply for up to £350,000.

"Enabling people to build on their recovery capital is a key ingredient in ensuring people have the best chance to achieve and sustain long-term recovery from gambling harms following gambling treatment," said Owen Baily, a Lived Experience Consultant.

Applications for the Aftercare Funding Program open today and run through 15 August 2022.

The Community Resilience Fund

The £1 million Community Resilience Fund (CRF) aims to provide short-term funding to enable organisations to respond quickly to the cost-of-living crisis and its impact on exacerbating gambling harms.

New partners and charities can apply for up to £100,000 for 12 months. Applications for the Community Resilience Fund open today and close on 28 July 2022.
