Fortunately the slot brings the average quality level what I used to at Rival’s traditional solutions, meaning, it’s well-architected, designed and not over decorated which is sometimes a real shortcoming in my opinion at this type of games. The machine has ‘gold mining’ theme and has great background image with a gold-digger. It’s not the best illustration that I’ve ever seen but has a little oldie mood and perfectly suits for the subject of the slot. I also love the digger, bars, bag of money emblems that are also perfect selections for this western style. There are really not much things to say about it, it’s just good and nice as it is.
First and more importantly I must tell about my already mentioned issue. Playing with maximum bet (3 coins) the available top return is just 400 coins which is very, very poor. I know this is a 3-reel, 1-payline game and can’t be expected to have any jaw-dropping reward to win (though there are some products that can provide that), but this Jackpot it’s still unacceptable low. Perhaps I’m just getting more and more greedy as time goes by but lately noticed I started to ignore games with the promise of less than 1000 times of bet as main reward and think a modern gambling product should offer minimum that much to be able to invite back players with a good chance.
Anyway, the slot has other qualities to focus on in positive way. Fortunately, Gold Rush is very usable for bonus wagering purposes, at least it did that trick for me one time. Generally, excepting the big wins it has all the game property that needs for that. It has surprisingly great payback percentage and the little wins are very frequently occurred (even if some of them are not really profits, they just return the stakes). 2 Bag of money symbols is one combination that does that (the other is 3 unmatched Bars, which is not too generous because it must pay more than just give back the initial bet) and I like they shouldn’t be necessarily on the first two reels at the end of a spin so all 3 positions of the line is available for completing such winning combination. The same goes for the best icon of the game, the Wild which is doubles or quadruples the wins depending on whether one or two of them appear on the center line.
So my final thoughts about this slot is very ambivalent because there’s a product with decent look and proper atmosphere creating ability that has a very great gaming settings and the wins are really happens very often and proved to be very usable but on the other hand what’s the most important in business standpoint the best winnable prize is laughable and I must say this latter really ruins the game, at least for me. There are other Rival traditional slots that can offer these same qualities with much higher Jackpots so as I see it there’s really no reason to choose this game instead of them.
