Vault Assault is the simplest slot game I’ve ever played and at the same time this is the ugliest NetEnt product, in my opinion. This slot looks like if a front image of a traditional, land-based, one-armed bandit would have been cut off from an illustration and using it up with focusing only the reels and buttons NetEnt would have created an online version of it.

But why really I say ‘ugly’ is because wherever I play it, it has very vague, blurred view and almost can be said it’s pixelated. I absolutely don’t like it.

The classic slot has 1 pay line and uses symbols like dynamite, (police?) car, bars and safe but the most important, for my biggest surprise the game is a progressive Jackpot machine. It offers fix stake (€1) but the game can be played with 2 and 3 coins, too. Players may have a chance to win Jackpot (3 Safe symbols) only if the bet is 3 coins. 9 icon combinations make available to achieve wins but not every one of them require the symbols to be on the winning line and Dynamite is the only one that pays (x2) if it appears alone on any position of the line.Car and Safe possess the ability to pay if 3 identical of them appear anywhere on the reels. In the case of Safe figure can be ambivalent feelings of the players because obviously €3000 is a very nice prize and be very happy about but if they’re all land of the winning line, so that’s a whole different story.

To be honest, the only thing that saves Vault Assault to not be played by me is the chance for Jackpot. Usually, €3 per spin is a little high for my style but sometimes when I feel some good from the game I spin some rounds. So far I’ve never meet Safe figures not just as Jackpot but never seen 3 of them on the window and my biggest won were just three double bars, but in the most cases I could leave the game with minimal losses which are not that big prices for hoping a potential much bigger reward.

It’s really a very minimal game and there’s not much to do except pressing the spin button. I wish it were more attractive.

Vault Assault is another mini game such as Mini Spell, Zodiac and a few other well-known Net Entertainment slots. These games are developed to allow you to do something else on your computer, such as a sportsbetting, reading the newspaper, playing poker - you name it! They only take up little space on your desktop.

Although I appreciate the concept, I do like to keep a sharp eye on my money while playing. So I rather prefer a normal sized version of Vault Assault and others. The nice fact about Vault Assault is that it's attached to a progressive jackpot though. That's one of the main reasons why I once decided to play this game.

It's a classic slot with only 3 reels and 1 payline. I'm not exactly a big fan of classic slots, but when there is a jackpot of 8,000 euros to be won at that time, then I become a fan almost instantly. The symbols of this game consist of police cars, tnt bombs, bars in different colors and the cracked vault symbol.

As usual the symbols reflect the theme very nicely. You know right away what you're in it for, and that's to crack the vault. Keep in my mind though that you have to bet max to be eligible for the progressive jackpot. The minimum bet size on this game is 1 euro, and you can increase your bet size to 3 euro max.

Collecting 3 cracked vault symbols on a payline equals winning the jackpot. If they appear in the window and not on a payline you win a nice prize as well. I started playing this game at 3 euros per spin, and was down 100 euros in no time.

I regretted choosing to play this game, since the cracked vault symbol was almost nowhere to be seen. It also gets a bit boring after a while only playing 1 payline, but that's just the structure of this slot. After losing another 100 euros with only small marginal wins, I decided to pull the plug and run away. I never hit a prize bigger than 4x bet size lol.

Maybe it's a nice game for others, but I certainly had no luck at all with Vault Assault and I don't plan on going back either.

My final rating for Vault Assault is a 6/10.
