The guru symbols appear stacked on the reels which helps. The red cat is the most lucrative symbol giving you 1,000 times your total stake for 30 or more on the reels. To win you need to land 9 symbols clustered together no matter where they land on the reels. There is a substitution symbol that substitute for any symbol to generate a win, should it make 9 or more clustered symbol then the substitution symbol will be revealed, if a win cannot be generated then the substitution symbol just stays in its form. The substitution symbol cannot reveal free spins symbol.

3 or more dragon scattered symbol on the reels trigger the free spins feature. 3 symbols awards 5 free spins and more scatter symbols increase the amount of free spins. The max free spins that can be awarded is 8 for 6 scatters. When 2 scatters land on the reels and the 3rd one just below the bottom row or above the top row, the nudge feature kicks in and the reel will nudge to make the 3rd scatter visible making it easy to trigger the free spins.

I like this game and it pays often compare to Aloha. At times I feel I can wager with this slot if necessary as the balance is steady or always in plus. The free spins feature pays mostly decent. I won x100 – x200 my bet a couple of times already, so I would say give it a try and see if it your cup of tea. I would give it a 6 out of 10 at least.

Random Substitutions is another feature that can occur whenever 2 clusters of a same symbol do not form a winning combination, so additional same symbols are created by the substitution of one other symbol to create a win. In certain instances, a Sticky Respin feature may be awarded instead, with each new winning combination getting another respin, until no new wins are achieved.

The high paying symbols, called the Guru symbols, can either be single or double sized symbols, including the Free Spins symbols too. All other symbols are single sized but are stacked on all reels. The Red Guru is the highest paying symbol, getting 30 of which would pay a nice 10,000x the line bet. Take note though - trying to get 30 of any same symbol is no easy task! Hehehe. There are no Wild symbols in the game, and the Free Spins Scatter symbols do not pay anything either. Getting 3, 4, 5 or 6 Free Spins symbols award 5, 6, 7 or 8 free spins, but are without any multiplier. If the final payout from the free spins is less than 10x the total bet, one additional free spin is awarded, just to break that 10x mark. This may look good, but is not really that worthwhile, winning wise. I mean, how much difference can a win of under 10x and one win of just over 10x ever make, right?

Well, to like or not to like this Shangri-La Cluster Pays game is purely individual. Personally, it plays quite okay to me, but the paytable and the overall payouts from the game isn't my cup of tea - it certainly cannot make my mug of strong coffee, that's for sure! Hahaha.
