Slot Features
Wild symbol will substitute for all the other symbols in the game to help you forma win combo, and the only symbol it cannot substitute for is the Scatter. Wild can appear on reels 2, 3 and 4 only, and each time a Wild hits you will see a random multiplier being added to the total win spin. Of course, if you get more than one multiplier, you can expect them to get added together.
Hand of Midas is the Scatter, and if you hit 3 or more on the same spin, you will trigger the Free Spins round.
Free Spins
Once the round is triggered you will see mini reels appearing for each triggering scatter and they will offer a possible number of spins that range between 1 and 3. All the mini reels will spin and award the number of spins for the round.
The round offers a general win multiplier that will get applied to the total win on each spin. In addition, each Wild that hits will stick to the reels and remain there until the round ends while the general win multiplier will increase by x1, x2 or x3, randomly. The minimum guaranteed multiplier you can win is x10, 20 or x30 the total bet, depending on the number of triggering Scatters.
Buy Free Spins
If you choose not to wait for bonus round to trigger, you can buy it in for a certain compensation. Hitting that button will open up a panel of three choices – 27 spins, 36 spins and 45 spins. Each option requires a different amount for buy-in.
Summary
The Hand of Midas is a well-designed slot with some basic but fairly rewarding features. The slot is highly volatile with 96.54% RTP and the max win cap is set to x5000 your bet. The slot is not exactly sky high entertaining, but it is still worth giving it a few spins as it really makes of a decent slot.
Hand of Midas is a slot game from Pragmatic Play that was released about a year ago or so. I first explored it on the Socialtournaments page where Pragmatic Play organizes tournaments and that's how I had my first experience with this game. I thought that the game had an interesting bonus feature so afterwards I spent several sessions playing it.
The game itself is inspired by the Ancient Gods theme and has a nice design, which includes symbols like the god Midas, fruits, wine cups, chest of gold and other elements that would make you instantly think of Ancient Greece. I think that in terms of design, Pragmatic Play has done a nice job.Â
When it comes to bonus features, the game is quite simplistic. In the base game you can land wilds, but the wilds can also have different multipliers, such as 2x and 3x. And if you happen to land a few wilds on the same spin, you can get a nice base game hit. But I have to say that in my experience, base game hits are quite low and thus far I haven't got a win over 50x bet on the base game.Â
Aside from that, there's also a free spins bonus round which is triggered by hand scatter symbols. The bonus round itself is quite interesting, as every scatter can be awarded with 1, 2 or 3 spins. Also you can buy the bonus round, and if you're ready to spend more, you can buy the 5 scatter trigger to get more spins. I have bought the feature several times, but only at the lowest level of 100x bet for 3 scatters. Usually I would end up with 11- 14 free spins. And there are two things I really like about this bonus.Â
First of all, if you're unlucky, there's a minimum win guarantee of 10x-30x your bet, which depends on the amount of scatters you initially got. So if you play all your free spins and don't get a win, you'll get a few additional spins. It happens until you reach the minimum win guarantee. I like it as at least you don't end up with a 0 win. Second thing I like is the fact that the wilds in the free spins are sticky and can again have different multipliers, which are then summed up. I've had a few sessions where I get wilds of 2x, 3x on a payline and get my wins then multiplied, which is when you can get nice wins. But that being said, it's one of the high volatility games where you can either get small wins or win big. My best win has been around 300x bet when I had several wilds in the bonus game, but usually I'd get less than 100x bet.Â
Overall I think it's a nice game and I like the bonus feature, which reminds me a bit of the Dog House, due to the sticky wilds. And I also think it's a nice touch to add the minimum win guarantee. It's not one of my favorites but I quite enjoy playing it from time to time.
