Pyrons is nice designed video slot game from Yggdrasil Gaming software provider. This game has 5 reels, 3 rows and 20 active pay lines. I tried to play it just once, and I did not have any good results on it.

The game based on different multipliers. There is no bonus game or free spins feature. On each spin winnings symbols will explode, leaving new place on the reels for new symbols. The mulitplier increases for each consecutive win and it can goes up to max x20 multiplier.

At the beginning when I just opened this game, I expected some really nice winnings because of different multipliers. On other side I was a little bit dissapointed – here is no bonus game or free spins. I was playing it for around 20 minutes and I had some winnings which were decent, but without any really big win.

Mostly I played it at minimum bets, sometimes I tried to raise my bet; but my luck on it did not changed. My best winnings were around x10 to x20 bet when I reached x5 multiplier. Only a few times I got the highest multiplier of x20 – but every time when my next spin should be on that multiplier there was empty spin. So yes, I hate that and later I just closed this game.

I never played it again, I can say that I rather play video slots where you can find many different modes of free spins features, bonus games and things like that. I do not think I will play PyronS again in near future. The only reason is because this game can eat your balance very fast, without any decent winnings. So I will rather stick with other video slots, maybe even with some others from Yggdrasil Gaming software provider – which are much better for me with free spins and things like that. I will rate it with 6 out of 10 possible stars.

I find good idea when the creators grab traditional fruit symbols and instead of making a classic slot they let them into a multi-line slot and I think sometimes they don’t have too much work with them as they really don’t require much modification but at Yggdrasil the guys thought it another way and created a unique but very captivating interface to a 20-payline slot named Pyron. The well-known symbols the game uses are 7’s, cherries, apples, oranges, lemons and stars but they’re not illustrated in conventional manner much rather we can see very colorful silhouettes in potions which are filled with special liquids. I must say the developer did a very great job with this product as the graphics are really great but I like the little animations and even more the perfect color usage and the way how they assigned a dark blue, black image behind the orange, purple or yellow symbols making the entire screen very beautiful. To be honest I’m not a fan of changing the good old things if they work great but if someone can make the most out of this challenging procedure and have the ability to make things even better, I don’t mind it at all and this software company definitely made it.

The working scheme of this slot is as simple as it can be and perhaps it would be misleading information if I say the game doesn’t offer Wild symbol, free spins, bonus but with the only feature it still can be rewarding and very usable.
The product doesn’t use the traditional ‘spinning reels’, it works with the nowadays more and more popular drop down symbols which mode greatly determines the game functions and maybe explains the hiatus of the common features.

Every time when the falling icons can form a winning combination the participating symbols disappear and all icons above them fall down one position and naturally give place for some newcomers but what is really great at this slot that every consecutive wins after the new arrangement is organized got an increased win multiplier value which are x2, x3, x5 or fantastic x20. It means, because of the best paying combination can pay 2500 coins, in extremely lucky situation if we’re awarded such 5 of a kind win after getting 4 different wins by new symbols on the table, this main prize can be 50.000 times of line bet which is a very attractive attribute.

The slot uses only the already mentioned 6 symbols so the wins are frequently happens and thanks to the multipliers sometimes one spin really can be open-handed and results some nice little runs. I mostly play the game with €1 bet and even if I don’t really like this working scheme but at this game I could witness when the next arrangement was played by x20 potential win multiplier value and generally I’ve experienced a little bit better, player-friendlier game setting than at other games which are working in the same way. However, I must mention this slot also tend to hide wins for extended period just like other slots but at least it can be profitable at other times when it’s doing this, it really can be somewhat satisfying.

For me the main strength of the game is the fantastic appearance and the potential for big win but I think I would love even more this slot if it would work in traditional way and would have free spins and all other well-known features. But how the situation is now I even like to play with this slot and always feel myself entertained and I think Pyrons is really a fine example of ‘simple but great’ slot. I can recommend this slot.

Pretty much everybody knows the Gonzo’s Quest video slot from Net Entertainment. Ever since that game has been released multiple software providers somehow got a bit of inspiration from it to use the same kind of concept. This was the case for Betsoft with Rook’s Revenge, but I’m afraid this is also the case with Pyrons.

This isn’t a huge shame since it’s normal for companies to take a peek at the competition and use certain elements to make a compelling game. Well, Pyrons is basically a cross between Gonzo’s Quest and Cosmic Fortune.

The symbols of this game consist of classic slot symbols, such as sevens, bars, melons etc. These slot symbols are put in balls half full of water. Pyrons offers 5-reels and 20-paylines and the minimum bet is only 20 cents. I played this game for 3 hours straight one time on minimum bets.

Although it’s kind of boring, I did get many small wins to keep me going. One thing that Pyrons got over Gonzo’s Quest is the higher multiplier. The multiplier goes from 2x to 3x, to 5x and eventually 20x after each consecutive win.

It does not have a free spins game though, but 20x multiplier is still higher than Gonzo’s Quest 15x multiplier in FS. Pyrons btw is non-progressive video slot, so the only comparison with Cosmic Fortune are the balls and multiplier.

Despite its kind of boring nature and that my best win never exceeded 30x bet size and the fact that the background melody isn’t top notch on this one, I did enjoy playing this game and had lots of playtime. It can potentially pay 500 euros on a 20 cent bet, so it does have something more to offer.

There were also some points of improvements or things that could have been done better IMO. I didn’t like the distribution of the paytable. The stars and sevens have an extremely high compensation, while other symbols pay crap pretty much.

The other thing I noticed that the 20x multiplier hardly ever converts. 9 outta 10 times I failed to get a prize when I reached that much desired 20x multiplier.

What’s the point if I can’t seem to make it work? You really need it to have a good big hit. A free spins feature would have been nice as well.

Yggdrasil Gaming is a company that seems to be very committed to producing innovative style slot games and its work is evidence of an ongoing exploration of new features, which in some cases they appear to have had very good results, as can be the case for the welcome which it has had its slot "Reef Run".

"Pyrons" meanwhile, in my opinion, is a slot with uncertain future because basically it depends on one special feature to try to generate sufficient earnings (at least to nourish the hope) and fun able to captivate and retain new players. Its only special feature is the symbols involved in forming of a winning line, explode and disappear to allow new symbols fall into places that have been left vacant to explore new potential profits without charging additional value bet until you stop forming winning lines; In addition, each new gain in the same turn, is entitled to a multiplier to a higher level each time on a predetermined scale as follows: 1 x, 2 x, 3 x, 5 x, and 20 x, at the time it fails, the multiplier returns to 1 x again; the dynamics of this feature is very similar to video slot "Big Bang" created by the prestigious company NetEnt.

This feature is not bad or boring, on the contrary, we are always eager to make our next spin in the hope of getting a better result; what I mean is eventually the game becomes frustrating because of the poor winnings average. Playing on demo, I counted 18 turns in a row without being able to form a single payline with 3 of a kind; I hate to think about the performance of this slot in a real account, besides the low average is not compensated for any bonus round and much less by a wild symbol, totally lacking featuresin "Pyrons." While I agree with the statement that money is not everything in a video slot, I think that it's important, since after all, we the users of this kind of games are gamblers and money moves us.

I guess those who called this game Pyron have thought of a name as “cool” as can be, and they have never guessed that among those who will play it will be a physicist (in physics Pyron is a measure of the area energy density, very little used). I said above that the slot “catches you” even it is very simple. Some glass bowls fall from above, having symbols drawn on them representing the fruits from which are made the various drinks they contain. The sound of colliding glass bottles is amazingly natural and you wait at any moment for some bowls to break. This is a thing that, of course happens when they align on a payline. The places of the broken bowls are taken by other bowls. With every winning a line of “fire” climbs from the floor of the slot and sets up five multipliers (2 x, 3 x, 5 x, 20 x) on the left, giving each time a higher value. With luck you can touch even a 5x multiplier thought I never had a 20 x followed by a payout, but I still had 3 Big Wins of 10-15 Euro each. The screen shots uploaded above were taken at these times.

I played twice here, about 150 spins each time. The first time, I ended up with a minus of about 20 Euro in balance (pretty much), the second time I finished the game with 27 Euro extra. So I do not know really what to say about the game statistics. The slot can equally eat all the money very quickly or give wins after wins. If you look in the paytable, from the 6 existing symbols 4 of them offer only ridiculously low payouts (5 cents for "3 of a kind", playing at 20 cents/spin) but I suspect that the frequent attached multipliers, are increasing enough the value of payouts. However, except these multipliers here are missing both the Free Spins and the Bonus Game and these two would have certainly added some thrill to the game.

Just to say again, at the end the player remains with the image of so many broken bottles and of some light background music played only on 3 keys of a single instrument. Not bad, but certainly it's not enough.
