Planet of the Apes is 5 reels and 20 pay-lines video slot powered by Net Entertainment software. This amazing slot is inspired with the same name movie block buster which had a couple of reboots thus making it a movie with the large fan base. Slot was well-thought through with 2 sets of reels. It has a brilliant design and graphics, and there is an interesting intro movie which is definitely worth watching. Give this slot a spin here for free or visit any of the NetEnt Casinos if you wish to play for real money.

Before you head to this war, you need to set your bets. Coin denominations go from 0.01 to 1, and can be set by clicking "Coin Value +/-" section. With "Level +/-" you can set the number of coins per line. By clicking on "Max Bet" you will set the maximum bet available. "Spin" will set the reels in motion, whereas "Autoplay" will turn the reels automatically for a chosen number of times without interruption.

Slot has 2 Wild symbols, one for the Rise reels set, and the other is for the Dawn reels set. Both of them substitute for all the symbols in the game except for the Scatter and Bonus symbols, and both of them have the same payout values.

When on the Rise play area the reel is fully covered with Wilds, the Stacked Wild feature will get triggered. Once triggered, Stacked Wilds will be duplicated onto the Dawn play area in the corresponding position.

Monkeys are the Scatters, there are also two of them, one for each reels set. Three or more Scatter symbols appearing anywhere on the reels will award you with a win. Scatters on both reels sets are treated as two separate symbols and are counted separately, however the values are the same.

If you land 3 or more Scatter symbols anywhere on the reels in the Rise play area, the Rise Free Spins feature will get triggered. Once triggered, you will be awarded with 10 free spins. During the feature the number of Wild symbols that land on each spin will get collected, and on the last spin, all collected wilds will be randomly placed on the play area.

If you land 3 or more Scatter symbols in the Dawn play area, you will trigger Dawn Free Spins. Once triggered, you will be awarded with 15 free spins. During this feature there are 3 different collect symbols that activate a corresponding meter: Multiplier, Extra Wild and Extra Free Spins. When collect symbol land, it will fill the meter by one. Once meter gets filled up, the feature will be activated.

Dual feature can be triggered before each spin. If this feature gets triggered, one symbol is chosen for each play area with the same symbol not able to be chose for both play areas, and Wild and Scatter also unable to be chosen. If that symbol lands in its corresponding play area when the reels stop spinning it will stick and remain in the place. If the symbol lands in the other play area, it will transfer over to the correct play area into the corresponding position.

If the Rise Bonus symbol lands on the first reels, the Rise Bonus feature will be triggered. This is the additional coin win which is awarded for every human and ape symbol displayed on the screen except for the Scatter, and only those in the Rise play area. The same thing will happen in the Dawn Bonus feature if the Dawn Bonus symbol lands on the last reel.

This is for sure one of the biggest NetEnt releases ever. It's based on new releases of Planet of the Apes franchises. The Planet of the Apes was released in late 2017. It has split-screen as it's basically two slots running side-by-side(2 sets of reels). On the left, a set of reels is devoted to Rise of the Planet of the Apes, and the right one to Dawn of the Planet of the Apes. Each one has 5 reels, 3 rows, and 20paylines, also bet range varies from 0.20$ up to 20$ per spin.

Both Rise and Dawn features have their own sets of symbols. The lower paying ones include playing cards, 10, J, Q, K, and A. The premium symbols include characters from the movies. The Dawn has Will(man with glasses) and Maurice(woman), meanwhile the Rise has Charles(the old man) and Dodge(ginger fellow). There are also Koba and Ceaser on both sides. The wild symbol also exists on both sides. My first impression when I saw paytable was that it's just not good enough. As a line of scatter symbol pays only 50x, Wild 30x, Apes 30x, Humans 9x, and low paying symbols cards 4x. I would also mention that the Rise symbols are Golden, while Dawn ones are red, which is really unique.

The feature you will probably notice first is Stacked Wilds, they land and cover the whole reel on both sides. If the Rise Bonus symbol lands on the first reel, you will get a random coin win for every human and ape symbol displayed on the Rise side. Meanwhile, if Dawn Bonus symbols land on the reel 10, all apes and human symbols will transform into one same symbol. Winnings from Bonus feature are usually about 20-30x, got them a couple of times. This one is my favorite Dual Feature, it can be triggered randomly, the screen starts shaking and apes are running, next thing you know is that one random symbol will be chosen on each side. After that, you will get re-spins to try and fill up the whole reel.

For sure the biggest potential lays in free spins feature. There's a scatter symbol on each side, both are different representations of Caesar. You need 3 or more of the same to get one of the 2 free spin features. Triggering the Rise feature will get you 10 free spins and the goal is to collect as many wilds as you can. On the last spin, all collected wilds are randomly placed on the reels. My best win was around 90x, with only 8 wild-collected, this feature has for sure insane potential. On the other hand, triggering the Dawn feature will get you 15 free spins, so instead of collecting wilds, you collect 3 different symbols. Each one will give you an extra multiplier, extra symbols wild, or extra spins.

If you are a fan of the franchise, you will probably enjoy this game, if not this game is still worth trying just because it feels like you are playing 2 different games at the same time. Even with the max win being 3,000x, which makes this slot low to a medium volatile, I still had so much fun playing. My winnings were consistent in the base game, and I managed to get a couple of 80-90x wins during free spins.

I know there are lots of lovers of Planet Of The Apes movies and TV shows. I have seen all of the original movies and I have also seen its TV shows before, but, I'm never a fan of any of it! Why? Well, I do love science fiction stories and movies, but talking and smart-as-human apes is something that is an absolutely non-possible happening, as far as I know, so I can never accept this theory, even as a science fiction! Hence, I do not like anything on these talking-apes thing, including its movies, and including this new slot game too!

When Yggdrasil released its 'Power Plant' game, I called it the 'printed toilet roll' game, because the symbols roll downwards like a toilet paper does. When I saw this new game from NetEnt, I called it the 'kitchen roll' game, because the symbols and the play area spreads sideways, like a kitchen roll does. Whatever it is, both are only used for cleaning up some mess - so you can imagine my first impressions on this game when I first saw it. In my mind, you play this game, you'll make a mess, then you'll need the kitchen roll to clean it all up! Hahaha.

Yeah, yeah, I know that most players do not even think like I do, much less to picture this new game as a kitchen roll game, but my impressions of the game were further strengthened by the very poor paytable and the very low win values of all the symbols in the game. The Wild symbols pay 30x the total bet, the Scatters pay 50x, the Apes pay 30x, the Humans pay 9x, and the lower symbols pay 4x, all per total bet for 5 of each kind of course. What's the possible maximum single win from such a paytable? I couldn't even be bothered to find out, but I know that it's going to be damn low!

The Free Spins features may look interesting though. The Rise Bonus game awards 10 free spins. All appearing Wilds during the free spins are collected and played in the last final free spin, hopefully for a nice big win. The Dawn Bonus game awards 15 free spins, with all Ape and Human symbols transforming into one same random symbol in each free spin. Collecting special symbols would activate its corresponding feature, either a Multiplier, an Extra Wild, or Extra Free Spins. Then there are also 2 randomly activated features during the base game play - the Rise feature pays for all Human symbols on the reels, whilst the Stacked Wild feature copies the Stacked Wild reel into the Dawn play area on the right. Well, none of these features are new, of course, being nothing more than just mix-and-match from games like Lost Vegas and Copy Cats, to name just two games.

DISLIKED

Honestly speaking, I do not like any game that has more than 5 reels right from the very beginning, so imagine me seeing a game with 10 reels! It left my mouth opened! That's just as bad as seeing a game rolling down like a toilet paper! Hahaha. On top of that, my few plays on this new game have not given me any good wins, very much to my expectations, so there is nothing there to make me love the game, or to make me come back and play it more. Planet Of The Apes, movies or slot game, shall not make it into my favourites, not in the way it is presented now.
