Retro gaming has become a huge phenomenon over the last decade or so and it's now at the point where a huge portion of the population have childhood memories of playing old school computer games and crave a little of that retro action for a nostalgia fix. Hundreds of insanely popular youtube channels have sprung up to fill this demand as well as retro games shops and even shows on the big TV stations such as the recent "Go 8 Bit!" so it's no surprise that we're starting to get slot machines in this crazy retro style as well.

As far as I can remember Arcader is the first attempt I have seen from a major slot provider, but I'm sure it's not going to be the last! Considering Thunderstruck's usual modus operandi is super flashy 3D graphics with limited gameplay I would imagine that this game represented something of a challenge for them, but I think they did really well!

The graphics are pretty much what you would expect with the symbols being made up of big blocky pixels. I think it looks great though and the quick "Great!" and "Nice! popups that appear on the screen after a decent win are a welcome change from the long and boring "Big Win!" animations in other games. I also love the way winning combinations are highlighted after each winning spin and the sound effects fit in with the action really well.

The game has two features, the first of which is a basic pick me round with a small twist in that more than three bonus symbols will award a multiplier to each of your picks - as high as 9x for five of a kind. Like most of these bonus rounds it can be extremely frustrating if you pick the wrong item straight away and get kicked out of the bonus immediately, but some decent sized wins are possible if you make several good picks in a row with the 9x multiplier active.

The free spins are where it's at though of course, and there's even some sticky wilds available too! At the start of each free spin one spot from the central three reels will be zapped and a sticky wild added. It's possible to get a wild in all nine spots but this is unlikely as the game can pick the same spot again even if there is already a sticky wild in place there, meaning you gain nothing. In general though you tend to end up with around five sticky wilds by the end of the free spins most of the time and wins under 30x stake are very unlikely in my experience.

I really enjoyed playing this game, I didn't even find myself reaching for the mute button after playing a few hundred spins on it which definitely makes a change for me - the music on most slots drives me crazy! This has to be one of my favourite Thunderkick games so far and I definitely recommend it.

Arcader is an old school slot created by Thunderkick. Mixed theme of space and fruits set in the backdrop of some planet or space. This 5 reel slot can create big wins especially when you get all 5 bonus symbols on the reels. This game's features include sticky expanding wilds, free spins, mystery game and multipliers.

The top paying symbol in the game is the bar which gives you a win of 20x your total stake when landing 5 in a row. The red seven is next and the standard symbols are completed by the bell, the melon, the lemon, the plum, the orange and the cherry. The wild symbol can appear as single or in expanded form and only appear on reels 2, 3 and 4.

I played this game a couple of times but luck was never on my side. It is very difficult to trigger the bonus feature to access free spins. The mystery game is accessible most of the time, but I bust always on my 3rd or 4th pick. Same as the north light bonus round in wild north slot. Overall I think this game looks very modern given its derived from an old school look. I normally play free rolls with this game and manage to win some free spins. When the Thunderkick representative in Askgamblers informed that a new game would be released soon, that was last year, I was pretty excited and waited for it to come out. The day came, and Arcader was announced. I logged into one of my regular casino that has Thunderkick games, loaded up the new game, and gave it some trial runs, with some free spins at first, followed by some real money plays after that.

My initial impression of Arcader was one of disappointment. Not a lot though, but it wasn't up to my expectation nonetheless. Somehow, Thunderkick game designers liked to use retrospective aspects in their games, or maybe they had just wanted to see how the gambling market would respond to such games. If you're not familiar or unsure of what I'm talking about, it's simply about using 8-bits graphics integrated into modern 3D presentation. Sounds a little odd, but take a look at the game and you'll see what I mean. All symbols for the game are in 8-bits graphics, meaning, they are simple, basic, and without any realistic aspects of the actual items they represent. The fruits, for example, are not realistically represented as the fruits in Fruit Warp. That's the big difference in the two. My preference has always been for graphics as in Fruit Warp, never like those as in Arcader.

Putting quality of graphics aside, I must admit though that I found the background soundtrack rather catchy and lively, and with good sound effects too. I like this bit. Animations in the game are okay, within expectations, and those woman voices are acceptable too. Maybe they are supposed to be robotic or computerised speeches, to suit the theme of the game, but I could only hear them as women's voices nonetheless. Nothing bad in that, just a point to mention in passing, hehehe.

The game plays quite well, as in most of the other Thunderkick's games. They don't eat up your credits like hungry lions would eat their prey, as some games would, but instead, the game allows you to enjoy it at a slow and steady pace. I like this bit too. The features are basically the same as any other, meaning, a free spins feature game and a bonus game too, but both presented in Thunderkick's own 8-bits 3D way. The Bonus game offers 9 free spins with sticky wilds on reels 2, 3 and 4, whilst the Mystery Bonus game offers a 'pick and win' game, awarding cash prizes for each successful item picked. Pick an 'X' and you're dead! Hahaha.

Arcader is video slot with 5 reels and 15 paylines. It is creation of Thunderkick software provider. Arcader offer very colorful background, good music and flashing symbols. I like the theme, design into this game. It is very different than other video slot machine.

Into the game there is bonus game and mystery game. Mystery game start when you get at least three mystery symbols on the reels. Later you have to pick out some symbols and you get prizes. More mystery symbols mean bigger prizes. With all five mystery symbols you get prizes with multiplier x6. I triggered a few time bonus game with 3 bonus symbols, but i never won more than x20. I do not think this is really good, I expected bigger winnings.

There is one more bonus game, free spins. During free spins there are sticky wild symbols. You get one sticky wild on the three central reels with every free spins. Wild symbols remain sticky throughout the bonus game. I triggered this bonus game only with three bonus symbols, never more than that. And payouts are not so high. For every spin I got around x5 bet which is bad. Really bad. I expected bigger winnings. For three scatter symbols you get x1 mutliplier, for five x9 during bonus game. I think triggering bonus game with five scatter symbols means mega big win, but it is very hard to get all five on the reels.

At free spins I had results around x30 bet or even less than that. I do not think I will play this game again. The payouts should be better, I hate playing free spins with x1 mutliplier. The feature into bonus game is cool with all sticky wilds, but the paytable is bad. I will rate Arcader with 7 stars. It could be a great game if there would be better multiplier for three bonus symbols.

Arcader it is slot game made by Thunderkick. It is impressive software, but I do not see it much popular by players, and also it is not available at such many casinos like Netent or Microgaming for example. But believe me this software is really worth of mention and playing.

I like gameplay. There is 15 paylines, stacked wilds, expanding wilds. Expanding wilds are called very funny here - expander. And generally all game made very unique way, and giving a feeling that you playing very special game.

There are two different features in this slot game. First one is bonus game, it is just picking game, so not so much describe about, but you should know that it is really required to get 4 or 5 bonus symbols, not 3. Because for 3 symbols bonus game do not have any multiplier, while for 5 symbols all wins will be multiplied by 6!

Another feature it is freespins, it is also very depends on how much scatters you get. In any case, for 3 or 4 or 5 scatters you will get 9 freespins. But multiplier is different. For 4 scatters - it is x 3, and for 5 scatters it is x 9!! Oh my, with x 9 you can win so much!!! During freespins one per spin there will be sticky wild on reel 2 3 4. But not wait 9 sticky wilds, it can land on same place - and you get nothing.

I never get 4 or 5 bonus symbols or 4 or 5 freespins symbols...Therefore my best payout was about 100 bets in freespins, and something not good in bonus game like 10 bets in total. Base game could pay more than 100 bets, but not for me.

I don't know why, but I just don't like this Thunderkick game, is it me or I am just not lucky on them! Ok I might like the rest of the game they have even played all of them, but Arcader slot, I think that this is the ugliest game I have even seen, beside that, the winnings from this game are way to poor. Either this game need a lot of chance or lot of time and money to spend, because the winnings I was getting they were really hilarious, when I remember I wanted to try this slot and even spend few deposits !

This game it really remind me of many years ago, when the games were poor, with bad graphics just like this Arcader is or maybe that was made intentionally, to reminds us of that time how the games looked like.

It has 5 reels with 15 pay lines, it has wild symbols and what I have read about this game its RTP is 96% well that is a lot, but where? To me not, well maybe the game wasn't in the mood or my lady luck was gone that day or maybe I am not being fair so from only few times tested this game, maybe I should give it another chance!

Well I see it like this, some of the games are for us and what some game are happy or good paying for someone else doesn't have to be that, that slot must be acting the same for us. I never came further than 3 mystery symbols though. During this bonus game you get taken a new screen. You then have to select the symbols with question marks one by one.

The game ends when you pick an X instead of a fruit symbol. I’ve won 2x, 8x, 15x 20x and 38x bet with this bonus game. It triggers very frequently! The other bonus game to look forward to is the free spins feature.

This one is a bit more difficult to trigger unfortunately. I only had it twice but it’s worth the investment, because it makes use of sticky wilds. After every spin a sticky wild gets added on reels 2, 3 and 4.

If you collect 3, 4 or 5 bonus symbols you receive 9 free spins but the multiplier differs. The multiplier can be equal all the way up to 9x if you get five bonus symbols. I never had more than three of them but still won a nice amount of money with 90x and 140x bet.

I also like those little announcements of “Nice Win”, “Awesome” and “Big Win” besides the fantastic retro background music. Basically this slot has everything a player would look for - entertainment, potential, good background music and innovative gameplay.

The top payout for a 5oak bars is 20x bet. If you get 3 expanders or all wilds on reels 2, 3 and 4, with stacked bars on reels 1 and 5 then basically you have the max base game hit of 300x bet. Arcader is one of the best Thunderkick slots. It is the kind of slot where almost at every spin you feel like clapping your hands of happiness like a child. I discovered yesterday at noon this slot and until today I played here probable about 700-1000 spins. I am the kind of player who after 150-300 spins at one slot quits, but this game is addictive to the extreme.

Somewhere on one of the planets or moons of our solar system was placed a giant TV screen. The landscape in the background where Saturn appears (most perhaps) along with the rocky and arid soil and with several small meteorites overflying at low altitude the slot itself is perfect. The slot on itself resembles very good to those childhood video games where after you threw a coin you had to deal with dozens of monsters stylized from only a few pixels. Here all the cherries, lemons, oranges and apples are stylized from just a dozen of pixels. And so you are like in front of a galactic computer that speaks to you and on which run all the symbols that occasionally stop to make you a winner. The slot and the whole landscape are shaking with each winning line. The symbols come stacked, and even more there are special symbols that when they occur, they always increase the wins. Thus, the arrows expand on a whole reel so as to increase at maximum the win. The Wilds when they are present, they occupy almost an entire reel. How great would be a column Wilds, followed by two expanded arrows? And once in a while you will have this chance.

The Free Spins are equally captivating. At each Free Spin a meteorite falls on one of the symbols and turns it into a locked Wild for the remainder of the round. Man I love 16 bit graphics it reminds me of the old time like Super Mario Bros. This game look very stunning with 16 bits and it looks very high definition for 16 bits graphics.

Gameplay of this game is also very awesome. The best feature is the expanding wild which can give you big win if you get the high symbols next to the expanding wild symbol(s).

Arcader looks a lot of the old fruit machine but with extra reels and paylines. I don't really like the old fruit machine but this game is different from that.
