Pragmatic Play has come forward quite noticeably recently, coming up with new game releases that are good looking and contemporary, at par with any current new game, although slightly behind the best, in terms of graphics quality. Many years ago, when I was still very much into Topgame, Rival and Real Time Gaming games, they were all at about the same status. I'm not sure about RTG games now, because I still cannot get access to any of them as yet, but I have now seen much improvement in Pragmatic Play, whereas Rival is still lacking way behind. It looks like I'll be spending more of my time with Pragmatic games, but not as much as with the other top software games, because play and pay wise, Pragmatic Play has still a lot to catch up on.

Lucky Dragons is very similar to Dragon Kingdom, also from Pragmatic, and also released at around the same time, but Dragon Kingdom has more superior and outstanding graphics than Lucky Dragons. Why they both couldn't have the same standards is beyond me, but I feel that Pragmatic should adhere to the best of what they can offer, always. The Coin is the Wild symbol in this game, it doesn't pay anything for itself, and only do substitution of other symbols except for the Scatter symbol. It's really a shame for making the Wild a dumb symbol! If it doesn't pay for itself, as in this case, then it should at least double all wins with it, and/or becoming stacked or expanded on the reels, both in the base game and during the free spins too.

The Buddha Statue is the Scatter symbol, appearing only on reels 2, 3 and 4, paying 2x the total bet for getting all 3 of them, and triggering 6 free spins with Sticky Wilds randomly added to reels 2, 3 and 4 throughout the free spins. Each appearing Scatter symbol during the free spins add +1 more free spin. Hmm, I usually find 6 and 7 free spins to be insufficient to provide any good wins, especially when the free spins are without any multiplier. Even 10 free spins frequently fail to do this, unless several retriggers are achieved, which doesn't happen always, as expected. It would be best if all Pragmatic free spins have at least a 2x multiplier and can be retriggered. As for the other symbols in the game, the Dragon pays 800x, the Phoenix pays 400x, the Tiger pays 300x, the Crocodile pays 300x too, the Fish pays 300x as well, and the rest pay from 150x to 50x, all per line bet for getting 5 of each kind. A very low paytable unfortunately, making good wins very difficult to achieve.
Being a new game, I could only have one play on this game so far, and as far as my first ever gameplay goes, it wasn't good at all. Typically of all Pragmatic games, the Free Spins games are quite hard to get, but could come quite closely together at the right times. I couldn't get any Free Spins game in my first play, which I'm not surprised at all, but hopefully my other future plays could give much better results. Only the regular small payouts kept the game going for a while, but players won't ever be satisfied with just that. Without any big wins potential, interest in the game would soon wither away quickly, and this Lucky Dragons game may face this eventually, due to its very low paytable and poor payouts.

I absolutely adore the presentation of Pragmatic Play's new Lucky Dragons game! I don't actually recall playing more than one or two other games from this developer but wow if this is the quality of their output then this is definitely one slots provider to watch!

The free spins can seem a little bit tight at first, as you only get six by default; that isn't as bad as it sounds though because the reel strips used during the bonus have extra scatters and every one that drops into view adds an additional free spin to your total. I've not had a single bonus yet where I didn't get at least one extra free spin. The feature is further enhanced by the addition of extra wilds on reels two, three and four at the beginning of every free spin. This can work out really great if you keep on hitting more and more scatters, thus extending the length of your bonus round. You can end up with some big stacks of wilds filling up the middle of the screen which really adds to this games potential.

Sure, the maximum "Jackpot Spin" is only 800x your stake, but you can land many big winning spins in a row during the bonus mode and it should be possible the luckiest of players to have a final combined win of a few thousand times your stake from a crazy bonus round.
I'm in two minds about the stacked dragon symbols, sure it is the top paying symbol and having it piled high on all five reels makes for some decent winning potential, but I much prefer it when the wilds are stacked instead! So many times when playing a slot that uses this configuration I will end up with a full stack on reels one, three, and four, or something like that, and despite it being an incredibly rare combination it will be worth nothing without a matching symbol in the gap!

Despite the additional scatters added to the reel strips during the free spins, I still found that it was pretty rare to get a bonus round that goes on for more than around 10-12 spins.

Unfortunately, it seems very difficult to find any Pragmatic Play slots at a UK licensed casino right now. Infact I only know of two casinos out of the 55 listed here at AskGamblers who accept players from my country, which is a massive shame.
