Bruce Lee - Dragon's Tale Reviews by Players

There's been a few games with multiple reel sets I have really enjoyed, Megaspin Break Da Bank Again was the first example I can remember (although that game was very much just four machines onscreen at once) and Playtech's Sunset Beach was another great one that plays much more similar to Bruce Lee with stacked wilds that copy from one reel set to another on each spin.

There's several differences in the way the game engines work but the advantage Bruce Lee has is that the scatter symbols are copied across to the different machines rather than you needing a single scatter on all four machines to trigger the bonus round. Better still if you manage to get three scatters on all four machines on a single spin you get a 12x multiplier to go along with your bonus round as well.

I'm not much into martial arts and couldn't name a single Bruce Lee film if my life depended on it, but I tried out the slot games based on him after hearing several good reports whilst browsing the on-line forums. Whilst I can see the appeal, I don't really think there's much that this game does that hasn't been done better by another slot developer.

The three sets of reels on the right hand side of the screen, if you watch them very closely it appears like its just one set of reels moving through the various windows much like on one of WMS "Colossal Reels" games. This is important because it means you can only get a stack of wilds on all three sets of reels if you happened to get them on the initial spin of the larger reels, which really sucks. When you have two scatters on the left hand reel set then the right hand machines all spin in super slow motion and stop seperately but I'm sure they still work this way in the background.

Add to this the games horrible paytable (WMS seem to be even worse than NetEnt for this!) and I'd say your only chance at a big win from this game would be the 12x free spins round. WMS have another Bruce Lee game, the exact title escapes me right now but I definitely much preferred it to this one and I'd recommend seeking that one out instead of wasting your money on this.

"Transfering Wilds" is one of the nicer features that I can find in a slot, and even more if it is one that has a main slot of 5 x 3 reels and 3 secondary slots with the same number of rows and columns, that means a better chance for getting big profits, and on "Bruce Lee - Dragon's Tale" slot there is this feature and better yet, not only wild symbols are transferred but they are also transferred scatters responsible for triggering the round of free spins, which by logic also increases our chance to trigger this feature. In this slot wild symbols appear stacked which is very good, and the scatters are represented with the symbol of yin-yang and you need at least 3 of them in just one box to get a round of 10 free games;

for me it has been very disappointing not being able to trigger one of these rounds for a long first session, fact that in the end it has made me discouraged enough to try again this game, for me it was no coincidence that the few times I got 2 simultaneous scatters inside the main box, and once they were transferred to the 3 boxes on the right, the new scatters fell right on those who had recently been transferred, eg, on the same places, and thus never allowed me to trigger my round of free spins; this situation was very frustrating for me and even more to see my balance systematically decreasing all the time due to the poor result obtained during the base game.

When I read comments about this video slot on several websites and online forums sites, I see that opinions about "Bruce Lee - Dragon's Tale" are totally divided, in some cases they are really high ratings and others extremely low ones, it is possible that today was not the best day to play this game, but the impression left on me does not give me reasons to recommend it, either way I think there are many other games of WMS that I consider really good and I can still use them when playing in a casino that uses this brand of software, so I will simply let go this one.

Because the Bruce Lee slot was such a success and very popular among slots players, WMS decided to release a second part of this game with even more spectacular features: Bruce Lee Dragon's Tale. If you liked the first version, then you must give this one a shot as well.

Although I prefer the first version more (simplicity), I still enjoy playing this game every now and then. While the Bruce Lee video slot only has one set of reels, Bruce Lee Dragon Tale has four reel sets of 5x4. Each one has 20-paylines (80-paylines together) activated and the minimum bet to play with all at the same time is only 40 cents.

Sometimes this game is just a little bit too much for me too handle since it has so many reels, that’s basically the only reason why I choose to play the first version more often. If we look at the features and multipliers possible in this game, then obviously Bruce Lee Dragon's Tale is the one that should be given preference.

Just like its predecessor the symbols are filled with Bruce Lee himself in several different postures and weapons/objects that relate to martial arts and Chinese culture. Two main symbols to pay attention to are the Bruce Lee Logo (Wild) and Yin Yang Logo (Scatter).

What I like so much about this game is that when the wilds or scatters appear on the main set of reels, then they automatically appear on the other 3 reel sets as well. So that builds up a certain excitement, especially if you manage to get many wilds.

I played this game on minimum bet mainly, and managed to grab a few good wins during base game of above 150x bet. There is also a free spins feature. If you get 3 or more scatters on one of the reel sets, then you win 10 free spins.

If you manage to do this at multiple reels sets, then the conditions become even better. There is a 3x multiplier for 1 reel sets, 6x multiplier for 2, 9x multiplier for 3 and 12x multiplier for 4. I never came further than three scatters in 1 reel sets, but I had some decent wins during the free spins as well of 100x and 200x bet a couple times.

Most of the time it pays around 30x bet though. I would love to experience the feature with the 12x multiplier, but what are the odds to get the feature triggered on all 4 sets of reels? Very little most likely! Final conclusion: All in all this a well-designed game that deserves any praise it gets.

If your eyes are tired, then so many reels are a little bit too much too handle.
