Aladdin’s Destiny is another Arabic tale, legend themed slot this time in the interpretation of 1 X 2Gaming but I can’t say I’m too excited about the interface of the game. The graphics are just average (in best case) and though there are the expected play symbols like magic lamp, Aladdin, gems, Genie but they seems to be a little bit one-schemed and one-coloured and sometimes I have a feeling if we would take all symbols and interchange them with another bunch of figures and cover the name of the game at the top of the reel area, well, the new interface and layout would be as appropriate to any theme and atmosphere as it is now and that’s the biggest problem with the screen, it simple can’t be a good representative of the theme and it isn’t able to create such wonderful atmosphere what other slots which built around this subject provide. I suppose this two (graphics and atmosphere creating ability) are coming hand in hand and because none of them excels the final visual experience can’t be too satisfying and obviously there would be several both little and more importantly things what would require fine-tuning or bigger intervention to finally make this game more impressive and its interface not to be just a playable, barely average platform.
The game segment at this fixed 50-payline slot brings a lot of uncommon working methods and features to the table which makes the game very, very interesting. The slot is also full of very surprising things like the game doesn’t use traditional Scatter or the normal spins partly are played without Wild or a 5 of a kind win with the best paying Aladdin character is worth only 500 times. I think only one of these qualities would be enough to turn away this product but fortunately it doesn’t show the whole truth. If I mentioned the surprising things I think I should have started with the most shocking one which is the most coveted symbol at this slot is not a regular emblem and by own it doesn’t have rewarding power at all.
I think that’s enough from mysteries and there’s a time to clear the picture. Besides the normal symbols 4 different coloured gemstones also can land on the reels (they easily can be recognized as they are not framed). The yellow one is also appear on the first reel, the purple on the second while orange and blue only on the last two reels. Every time when a gem arrives to a reel one position out of 5 is filled in the gem counter which can be seen below the reels. To the situation won’t be so easy there is another figure named Lord Jaffarcake and his only goal is to steal our gems and he can do it every time when it lands on a reel and takes away one gemstone from the collected ones on that reel.
If we collected at least one of each gems the x 2 Wild is activated and from that point it may appear anytime and anywhere on the screen and doubles the wins which need its help to be completed. If we manage successful to get 5 gems from the same colour the free spin feature is triggered and the number of spins depends on the colour of the triggering gems. Yellow gives 25 spins with no general win multiplier, purple offers 20 free spins with x 2 multiplier, orange hands over 15 extra games where wins are multiplied by x 3 and finally the blue one awards 10 free games using x 4 multiplier. During free games an additional Wild comes alive which has x 3 win multiplier. So if we get to the free spins and collected at least one gem of every colours the free games are played with x 2Wild and x 3Wild (otherwise just the x 3Wild will be activated) and if those two are active members of a winning combination there that win is multiplied by x 6. This situation can be occurred only if the yellow gems triggered the feature (because the spins there don’t bring any multiplier) but if this mentioned win with two Wilds is completed during ‘blue’ free spins that win is multiplied by x 4, x 2 and x 3 combined incredible x 24.
I know this is really hard to understand from these sentences and actually you have to spend some time with the game while you can understand everything (at least it took me for a while and I blame for this the game rules description which can be more detailed and specific), but after you know every rules the game really can be very entertaining and exciting and I don’t recall any other slots which would have such interesting and enjoyable feature triggering attribute and that’s the appreciable and positive side of this game.
On the other hand the slot has very poor payout ability. I can’t really understand how it is possible when so many Wilds and win multipliers are used but I never could collected more than x 35 times of total bet during free spins and it doesn’t matter how many spins I was awarded or what was the starting win multiplier or one or two or both Wilds were active.
On paper, the slot possesses very great potential but in reality it never manifested and the usual won amounts are just massive disappointments.
This dual feeling also exists when I think about the game in general as I really like this very unique and multi-level triggering method which makes the play sessions here very enjoyable and entertaining but I’m not really a fan of the appearance of the game and more importantly absolute can’t find the overall rewarding system and game settings satisfying and sometimes even acceptable one. I think I’ve already spent enough time by playing this game to have a comprehensive opinion about it but I’m still unable to make a decision regarding whether I should love this slot or not.
So I guess it’s better instead of giving any advice or suggestion if everyone who is interested in getting to know this slot more come and see what this slot is all about and at the end makes own opinion based on the playing experiences.
