Before Dead Or Alive, there was Fandango's! Needless to say, it was my top favourite game from Top Game, ahead of Diablo 13. When my ISP got totally blocked from accessing numerous online casinos, I could no longer play Fandango's, and many other favourite games from other game providers too. Only recently, I managed to get access into one casino that has Top Game games, now under the brandname of Pragmatic, so I decided to give Fandango's a refresher play, for old times sake for starters, hehehe.

Diablo 13 had a facelift, with slightly better graphics than before, but Fandango's appear to be exactly the same as I remember it, except for the new buttons and whatnots. The game screen is still like before, the symbols and paytable unchanged. But the most important thing remains uncertain, until I have given it a good play, and that is, does the game play and pay the same as before? Let's find out now. The Sheriff's Badge is the Wild symbol. It's a dumb symbol, sad to say, because it doesn't pay for itself, doesn't double any wins, doesn't become stack and doesn't expand either. It only substitutes for other symbols except for the Scatter symbol. The Scatter symbol, the Dynamites, is also another dumb symbol like the Wild symbol. Getting 3, 4 or 5 of them triggers 10, 20 or 40 free spins without any multiplier, but more free spins can be retriggered. Dumb Wilds and Scatters are typical of most Top Game games from yesteryear, which did not matter much to me then, but now it does matter a lot.

The Wanted Sign is the Bonus symbol, the third dumb symbol in the game, appearing only on reels 2, 3 and 4, triggering the Bonus game when all 3 of them appears on any active payline. In the Bonus game, first pick 1 of the 3 boxes to earn the number of shots, from 2 to 4 shots, then pick the items to shoot to win cash prizes. A simple bonus game that can pay from 9 coins up to 825 coins. Certainly not a lot by today's standards. As for the symbol, the Pistols pay 10,000x, the Red Indian pays 800x, the Boots pay 500x, the Cactus pays 200x, the Bullets Chamber pays 100x, the Hat pays 80x, the Horseshoe pays 60x and the Bullets pay 50x, all per line bet for 5 of each kind. In those days, this paytable was considered good, but today, it can only be a low paytable.

Nonetheless, as I've said before, a low paytable can still provide a good game play, and Fandango's is one of these games. Playing the game gets more interesting when the Free Spins and Bonus games start kicking in, paying out small to fairly decent amounts most of the time, but unexpected good wins can come by suddenly, either in the base game or in the feature game. My best score was achieved many years ago, getting 5 Pistols that paid about $2500. 5 Pistols pay 666x the total bet amount. My latest play on Fandango's gave payouts of 5x up to 67x my bet amount, but it gave me an extended play time, which was satisfactory enough for me, even though I didn't win anything in the end. Yep, this Fandango's is still the good old Fandango's. It still plays and pays the same as before, and this I like.

Fandago’s is a slot game coming from Top Game which I like playing from time to time. This is an older 15 payline slot with 5 reels.

The overall design and graphic of the slot are on a poor level so don’t expect to be blown away from it’s looks. This slot has a western theme which you will find in many slots in the online gambling industry so I can’t say it has an original theme. Usually 15 payline slots can produce some incredible wins but I can’t say that for this game. The highest paying symbol is the two crossed guns, but so far the most I have seen are only 3 on a winning payline. Usually while you play this game you get small to medium wins, nothing big.

This game has a wild symbol which is a sheriffs badge but it only substitutes the other symbols and doesn’t offer a multiplier which I think this game desperately needs. From the features this game has two bonuses. The first is a cash pick up bonus and the second is a free spins bonus. For the first you have to get 3 bonus symbols on a winning payline which can be a bit difficult. You get 3 bonus symbols very often in the game but they are usually not on a winning payline and it gets frustrating after some time. If you do manage to get them you need to choose from 3 bullet cases which reveal the number of bullets you get. The max I have got are 4 bullets and you get 4 shots on various objects on the bar. As you shoot you are awarded with numbers which are multiplied in the end with the line bet. The free spins bonus is triggered when you get 3 dynamite symbols on the reels and the free spins can be retriggered. There is no multiplier in the free spins so also don’t expect some big wins.

Overall Fandago’s is not a slot to play to win big. If the game is in a good mood it can help in wagering some bonus but nothing else.

Someone must love assigning western theme to slots at TopGame because Fandango actually got 3 versions and 3 separate products around the subject so we can play with classic slot machines with 1 or 3 paylines and with a 15-payline multi-line slot too. It’s not a complaint at all because I think they did a great job designing their interface and making attractive products. The 15-line version is a very decent graphical work and even though we can’t find here anything that would really make us excited but we’re dropped in an authentic environment where we can spend our times with sheriff badger, bullet, gun, cowboy hat, cactus symbols among the others while card elements were left out from this game which is absolutely not a problem. I like the brown colour domination around the reels (it reflects wooden made fence) and the full black background which really fit well to the theme and the not too colorful symbols. It’s an overall decent pictorial work which not offering too much but what it does is correctly worked out.

At this 15-payline slot the Crossed Guns symbol can provide the best paying 5 of a kind type win when 10.000 coins are credited and surprisingly this is the best quality what the game segment offers which is not a good sign. The Sheriff Badger acts as a Wild but it only can replace other symbols in a winning combination without the power to multiply it or having any own paying ability.

These kind of limited functions are valid for free games too where not additional multiplier value is in use and the won 10, 20 or 40 free spins by appearing 3, 4 or 5 Dynamite symbols during normal game mode are really played with the same combination as the triggering bet was. My usual returns here is no more than 10-15 times of my total bet and playing the game with €1.50 there are times when the won amount didn’t reach the €10 plateau so I think I can safely say that this is a very poor rewarding side game.

This statement doesn’t change in regards to bonus game where first we have to pick a packet of bullets which we predict contain the most bullets and then we have to shoot down some targets in a bar. The number of bullets (shooting attempts) sometimes is no more than 4 and the bonus points that every successfully destroyed objects hide are around 20-200 bonus points. Unfortunately, the collected bonus points are not multiplied by total bet, they’re calculated rather by line bet and the final won amount most of the times doesn’t live up to the expectation but it’s no wonder if I take into consideration that the most collectible points around 850. Basically, using the mentioned bet the maximum I can win here is €85 which in my opinion is far from being satisfying potential.

Generally, this very limited rewarding system is applied to the whole game segment so neither the wins during base game nor the awarded money at features and bonuses are not those what a player want to see and despite of this bad payout habits the slot simple can’t be so entertaining and usable than it should be. This really influences in bad ways the overall gaming experience and while the slot creates a very solid atmosphere but it is ruined by other parts of the game.
I’m sadly saying that this slot is more of a bad game than being average product because of the mentioned reasons and I think till the rewarding system won’t be corrected the slot can’t be anything else just another product on the market what a little bit messed up.
