X Marks the Spot

X Marks the spot is one of my recent explorations. I had a chance to get a 10$ free chip at Red Stag casino and I decided to try something new, I have never known much about WGS games, so I didn't really know what to expect. The name attracted me as I knew it would be something about pirates and treasure seeking.

The game has 5 reels and 20 paylines and the minimum bets are 0.20$. I have to say that visually I was quite disappointed in the looks for the game, design seemed a little primitive and old, the graphics weren't good looking too.

After spending some time with this game I can say that it didn't surprise me in any aspect, this game turned out to be everything I expected it to be. Visually there are tropical symbols, including wilds, and two types of bonuses, one is treasure seeking and the other is free spins. The treasure seeking in my opinion is too simple, most likely because it's not very rewarding, I don't know, but after getting the bonus a few times I got bored. It is triggered by bonus symbols on 1, 3 and 5 reel. This bonus comes up quite often and it is a pick me bonus, where you need to chose locations, and then you have the opportunity to gamble your win in order to unlock the treasure chest. I did that all the time, mostly I would get a little bigger winnings than I had, few times smaller. But overall I had the best result of 15x bet size on this bonus, so that's quite small.

The best thing that this game has to offer at all is free spins, which consists of 15 free spins with 3x multiplier. The free spins came up quite often too, I had around 1 feature in 100 spins, but that being said, only once I had a 40x bet win, mostly I got 20x-30x bet. So I do think that if this game can give decent winnings then free spins are the place which could give them.

Overall I won't be playing this game again and I don't really recommend it, it is an average game that won't cross my mind again. The free spins might give good winnings, with wilds and multiplier, but so far I haven't experienced anything remotely near that and what's important to me- I really dislike the design.
