A slot from Microgaming and based alien abductions and aliens and UFOs theme. The slot comes with 5 reels, 3 rows and 9 adjustable pay lines. Can be played for as little as 0.09 per spin if playing all 9 lines.

The free spins feature is triggered by getting three or more scatters, but they must appear adjacent to each other (there are red rocket scatters that appear on all 5 reels, while the blue and green space ships appear on reels 3, 4, 5) three scatters give you a bonus game where you select a spaceship and alien and there your chosen character will beam up the bonus game type. Such as the beam em up contest. There all 5 aliens will be competing in a neighbourhood beaming up as many items and each one is worth some coin wins, at end of it the placings are sorted 1st place, 2nd place, 3rd place, 4th place, 5th place.
Your prize is whatever the amount of coins you collected. Abducting humans pays the most, while simple items such as a pot plant, teddy bear, a cat are worth less.
Some items to see on the reels are flaming cherry, flaming orange (represents the sun), console, plumb Saturn, watermelon, as you can tell the fruits have been made to look like space objects.

I gotta say this one was one of my favorite 9 liners and I always had to have some spins on it during sessions. One of my better wins was when I had 3 red scatter rockets and then this led me to beaming up the cop character and paid 100x Bet. But the best bonus I had was 203x Bet. Keep a look out for the destination bonus which is a more rare bonus than the contest, because you can get higher paying characters related to the destination. Including the abduction of the queen if you visit London. Or if you go to Egypt then get the mummy.

DISLIKED

Perhaps it can be said that the teasing of the scatters can get annoying as you need the same coloured scatter to be adjacent to each other, sometimes you get two reds and then a blue but that doesn’t count as you need 3 adjacent reds, or you get two blues but green gets on the 5th and that’s not a good match either. RTP sits under 96% at 95.98% thus could be higher for a better experience.

What on earth is going on here? I see spaceships everywhere, I see aliens beaming up earthlings into their spaceships, and for what? All for fun of course, in the name of the game, 'What On Earth'. Okay, I do like playing aliens game, not the horrifying aliens as in 'Aliens', but in good funny aliens as in 'Energoonz'. Well, the aliens in this game don't look as good as those in Energoonz, neither are the graphics and the icons, but this is probably a much older game, so can't really complain about that. Just hope that the game can play as good.

The logo 'What On Earth' is the Wild symbol in the game, paying a nice 7500x the line bet for getting 5 of them, but this very dumb Wild symbol only substitutes for the 2 top symbols, the Blue Alien and the Dashboard. Why this is so I cannot figure out. Why it doesn't substitute for other symbols as well I cannot reason out. All I know is that this isn't a good move. There are 3 types of Scatters in the game, the Red Spaceship, the Green Spaceship and the Blue Spaceship. Why need 3 types of Spaceships? Only Microgaming knows. All I know is what on earth was going on in their minds? The Red Spaceship pays 100x the total bet for getting 5 of them, but the other 2 Spaceships can only be 3 of them, paying 3x the total bet. Why is this so? Hmm, my mind boggles! As for the other symbols, the Blue Alien pays 1000x, the Dashboard pays 500x, and the rest pay from 250x to 50x, all per line bet for getting 5 of each kind. An average paytable, because the Wild symbol disappoints, and all the other symbols have low values.

Getting 3 of the Green or Blue Spaceships, or getting 3 or more of the Red Spaceships, trigger the Beam 'Em Up Bonus game, but the Scatter symbols must be on adjacent reels. In this Bonus game, pick 1 of the 5 aliens in their spaceships to beam up earthlings to win a cash prize. Nothing big in most of them except for one nice 200x total bet prize. The rest are from 3x up to 50x the total bet amount. There is also a 'Contest' symbol, which takes the game into the next level, where your chosen alien competes with the other 4 aliens in beaming up the most earthlings. A prize is awarded for each placing. This second level game is not necessarily better than the first level, but the prize is slightly higher than in the first level.

DISLIKED

Well, I must admit that I quite enjoyed playing What On Earth, but the Beam 'Em Up Bonus games doesn't seem to pay good at all, unless you can get that top prize 200x earthling. I had quite a number of these bonus games, they tend to come quite frequently at times, but the payouts aren't worth shouting about, mostly within the 3x to 20x total bet range. Since there aren't any Free Spins game, What On Earth falls short of being a good game, but from the payouts that I had gotten, I couldn't even rate the game as good.

The first time I saw the screenshot for What on Earth I thought I am not playing this game. The symbols look ridiculous and I do not like the theme either. But then I read some reviews about this slot and I was convinced. I had to try it for myself. This is 5 reels and 9 pay lines video slot game.

The game has only one feature and that is the way popular ‘Beam Em Up’ bonus round. The only thing here that I do not like is that the scatters need to be on adjacent reels to trigger the feature. But to my surprise they appear quite often. The highest multiplier during the bonus round is 200 x bet, and it 400 x bet if you are really lucky to pull up a globe.

During the bonus round there are 5 different alien space ships, so the first time I picked the red one in the middle and it awarded me with x 15 multiplier. So I won 16.20 euros, I was playing with 0.90 bet. Next time I chose the yellow one, which was the last one and it awarded me with 50 x multiplier. At one moment I thought that the multipliers are gradually lined but I do not think that that is the case. I won 51.70 euros this time. I triggered the bonus again. This time I could make sure whether my theory was true or not. But still I did not wanted to risk so I chose the fourth one, I know from experience that the highest multiplier is never at the same place twice, and I got 3 x multiplier and 20.20 win. It is good that you can trigger the feature frequently so you can try every crazy theory that comes up to you at that moment.

I also felt very tempted to raise my bet during my session. But good thing I did not, because after a while the game started to change and to not pay as much as at the beginning.
