True Love an Old School Play Tech release is a very nice game. I am all for the old-school free spins with x3 multiplier slots. This reminds me of the good old days when gambling was really fun because today – So many have changed and it is even harder for some of us to keep up with industry standards.

This slot is based on a love theme, which could be valentine's, as I saw cupid acting as a wild, shooting arrows around through people's tender hearts. The slot has the standard 10 – A's as low paying with roses, birds, and cupid as the high paying symbol.

Cupid pays x5000 your total line bet of the spin if you managed to get 5 of the kind, which is hard. I would rather hand 5 scatters as the payout is huge, especially during free spins. So to win big you need a lot of fo re-triggers as winning on spins is very small.

The base game plays well, you hardly notice a big balance drop after 100 spins, provided no feature was triggered.

If you are lucky and manage to land 3 of the Lady scatter balls, the free spins feature is triggered. You will get 15 free spins and all winnings are multiplied by 3. During this feature you have unlimited retrigger and even scatters wins are multiplied x3.

Paytable is decent since it is one of the old-school slots, but more importantly, the triggering feature does not take forever. I would say this is a medium variance slot.

In the forum here, I have a friend who simply loves this slot and he got some decent hit/wins too. This is what inspired me to play the game.

Okay we can select the number of lines to play and that is something that I like in a game as you can sometimes play on fewer lines thus costing less per spin to get you through the drought periods that a slots cycles through, many slots these days have fixed number of lines but some of these older Playtech classics still give the player the ability to select the number of lines and that is good for the player to make use of so I suggest playing on fewer lines during certain times indeed. I have found the average number of spins to be around 250 and that is still in the okay range, unlike the more modern slots where you can be looking at the above 400 spins per feature so I will put that into the liked category for now although could be better and two-hundred spins or less I will say that it is still acceptable for the 250 or so spins. The average feature was around 80x Bet and that is a decent number if you ask me with the best one coming in at around 173x. There is the possibility of getting 5 scatters that pay a whopping 500x bet, I have yet to add that including the other near impossible is the 5 cupids which pay 10000x the line bet.

There have been times when the feature takes too long to trigger and the longest I have had to wait was 435 spins what is up with that seriously that kind of drought can really hurt the balance and make you not want to play the game anymore. The graphics of this slot are outdated and there are far better looking slots these days so if you don’t like this one just find something else worth playing. I still think it’s worth giving a few dozen spins now and then but it can be rough on the balance in the base game and you may need to trigger the feature in order to have a chance to recoup your investment.

True Playtech fans would know this game. It's an oldie, but has never been a hot favourite as some of the other 15-paylines games. Why? Because this True Love game is one game you either love or you hate, simply because it can play and pay really good at the right times, or simply give you a really bad time most of the time. Personally, I loved playing it in my earlier years, then gradually losing interest in it, because of the bad payouts. Nonetheless, I would still play True Love on and off whenever I feel like it, but not able to relive those earlier glorious days of the past.

The Lady in Pink is the Scatter symbol, 5 of her pays a marvelous 500x the total bet amount, and getting 3 or more of her triggers 15 free spins with all wins tripled. The Free Spins game can be retriggered infinitely, as the paytable says, but that is impossible of course. Still, this is just the way I love how a Free Spins game should be. The retriggers are not merely a statement, as typically found in most of Microgaming games, whereby the retriggers hardly ever happen at all, but when it does, you would only get one retrigger in 99% of the cases. Not with Playtech games. The retriggers happen quite frequently, at the right times of course, and can be anything from 1 retrigger up to 20 or more retriggers, all in one single Free Spins game! After all these years of playing, I have yet to meet another non-Playtech game that can provide this much of retriggers!

As for the other symbols in the game, the Dove pays 750x, the Violin pays 750x, the Rose pays 500x, the Chocolates pay 250x, the Ring pays 250x too, and the rest pay from 150x to 100x, all per line bet for 5 of each kind. A very good paytable, one which is very hard to find with any newer games, not even from Playtech itself.

My first ever play on this True Love game was probably more than 15 years ago! Yes, it has been around for a very long time. It is a difficult game to play, to be honest, because most of the time, those spins would be non-paying ones, or paying small insignificant amounts. The excitement can only begin when the Free Spins games start coming one after another, but you really have to be very patient to get to this stage. Once you're there, you can expect some nice big wins. I've won 5 Scatters in the Free Spins game only once, unlike my few times in Safari Heat, for example, but the retriggers in True Love can never match those in Safari Heat. The most retriggers I got in True Love was about 5 or 6 times, which is still better than what I had gotten in Panther Moon (4 retriggers). Nevertheless, this True Love game still remains as one of my old favorite Playtech games till this day.

The Free Spins game can take ages to come, often taking more than 500 spins, whenever the going isn't good. The payouts can be low too in the Free Spins games, without getting any retriggers at all, for a number of Free Spins game in succession. But this shouldn't be surprising at all, because True Love is a high variance game. Most may not like it, but some will.
