True Illusions Slot Betsoft

The title of this game can be quite deceptive and misleading, especially to me. Why? Simply because it says it’s ‘true illusions’ – but illusions to whom and illusions in what sense? I was eager to find out, so I gave this BetSoft’s game a few plays, and by now I can safely come to a conclusion, but what that is, you can find out at the end of this review, hehehe.

True Illusions isn’t a new game – it has been around for several years by now, but I don’t think it was ever a hit with punters. If you’ve played the game, then you would have a good idea why it is so. Basically, the paytable and the win value of all the symbols in the game sucks! The Wild, Scatter and Bonus symbols are all non-paying, whilst the highest paying symbol has only a 16x total bet win value for getting 5 of them, which is ridiculously low. It would have been more acceptable if the game plays with 243 ways to win, but it doesn’t, so you can practically say “goodbye” to getting any good big wins!

True Illusions offer 3 feature games for excitement, if any of it can excite you that is. Firstly, landing a fully stacked Wild symbols on reel 3 turns that reel into a Sticky Wild Reel, plus up to 7 free Respins. Sounds good perhaps, but the payouts I got were more like rubbish! Secondly, the Free Spins game awards a ridiculously low 5 free spins without any win multiplier, so once again, good luck in getting anything decent at all! Thirdly, the Bonus Round, is just as bad as the other two features – pick just one card to get an instant cash win, and the wins are usually rubbish as well!

True Illusions is a game powered by Betsoft software and I wanted to try it some time ago, but somehow always forgot. I was intrigued because I knew this game would be about illusion and although I don't really believe in that, I find it really amusing.
I've played this game few times now and first thing I'd like to say is that this slot is really expensive. Having 5 reels and 30 paylines, and the usual coin size of 0.02€, the minimum bet for a spin is 0.60€ and that's really a lot. And the payouts I've experienced for these bets have been quite disappointing.

Visually I really like what they've come up with, graphics are nice, there's a magician standing on the left side of the game. He's the most important symbol, as when you get 3 or more of this symbols, it triggers free spins. But I must say free spins is the most disappointing feature there, in my opinion. For 3 scatters I got 5 free spins, they don't have any multiplier, but the only thing is that when you get a win, the winning symbols disappear and new come to their places. Once I managed to get 4 scatters and played 11 or 12 free spins, I don’t recall exactly, and won the biggest amount I've got there- only 8€.

My favorite feature in this game is wild reel. Game has wild symbols and when you get center reel covered with wilds, they will stay there for a couple of spins. Once I got them for even 7 spins, but then again- the spins are not free, you pay for them. I know that other Betsoft games have a similar feature but then you get free spins, not regular spins you need to pay for. I can imagine how frustrating would be getting this feature on the last spin, before getting bust and then you couldn't even use it. Still, with it I can win around 2€ on every spin which is better than an empty spin. Then there's also a coin win feature, but so far I haven't even got it.

I like many Betsoft games but this won't make it to my list. I don't like the small amount of free spins and that there's no multiplier, in my opinion it definitely minimizes the winning potential. And when there's no feature active, the best win I've got on main game is maximum 2€, which again is very disappointing, when betting with 0.60€. I like design for this game, but I'm not gonna play this game more because I've lost much more than I've won and I think this game can be a true money eater.

"True Illusions" is another creation of Betsoft Gaming where high quality in 3D animations is one of the main protagonists. In this case Betsoft has based the story of his slot in a magic show preceded by a classic appearance magician and his beautiful assistant, and all other elements are items usually related to the profession, such as doves, hats, crystal balls, poker cards, etc.

This slot has 3 x 5 reels, 30 paylines, and bet size can be changed by choosing between playing for 1 to 5 credits per line, and the values of each coin can be chosen from $ 0.02, $ 0.05, $ 0.10, $ 0.25, $ 0.50 and $ 1. The wild symbol only works as substitute for all symbols other than scatters, and best of the game, are the special features and they are:

- Wild Reel: this is my special favorite feature because it usually has meant me greater gains, and is activated when the whole reel 3 is covered with wild symbols that remain tied with chains and stacked for up to 7 turns. It is also one of the features that appear most frequently, I love it.
- Free Spins Mode: this is triggered by the appearance of 3 or more scatters with the face of the magician and has the particularity that symbols involved in each hit will disappear and new symbols fall in a cascade to enable new lines formations.
- Pick a Card, Any Card: this is a feature of instant bonus and is triggered by the simultaneous occurrence of 3 or more scatters with the image of 3-card poker aces.

Betsoft has regularly been one of my favorite brands for slots, and among them I choose the ones I consider most generous, like everyone else, and this slot certainly has earned a special place in my list, because my average of earnings in all my sessions with "True Illusions" is, so far, something encouraging.
