Ah! The Three Musketeers! I loved reading the book, I loved watching their movies, and I also loved their TV series. In my schooling days, I would imitate d'Artagnan and play sword fights with my younger brother. Nowadays, I can only do sword fights with my one finger, hahaha. Anyhow, I have always admired the three Musketeers, not only for their courage and sword fights, but also for the funny antics that they would do. Maybe the funny antics were purely for entertainment's sake, for movie and TV fans, but who cares, I loved watching them anyway, hehehe.

In this Three Musketeers game, I had expected to see some funny antics too, but disappointingly, there were none. At least the version by Playtech had some hilarious animations in the game, so those were quite good, although the game itself wasn't that good, to me that is. In this Quickspin version, the Jester is the Wild symbol, but doesn't pay anything for itself, comes single or stacked, and the fully stacked symbol has a 1x up to 4x multiplier attached. Thank god it has a multiplier, otherwise I would be really disappointed! Hehehe. The Crest is the Scatter symbol, appearing only on reels 2, 3 and 4, pays 3x the total bet, and awards 10 free spins, but more free spins cannot be retriggered. Argh! The worst part is, the highest paying symbol, that Fat Man, whoever he represents, pays only 6x the total bet for getting 5 of him, whilst each of the Musketeers pay only 4x. Why the reverse, I really don't know! The Musketeers, being the main characters in the game, should have the highest win value instead!

During the free spins, all of the three Musketeers pay as one symbol, and any partly appearing Jester Wild symbol would nudge up or down to become a full Wild Reel, randomly multiplying any wins by 1x up to 4x. Sounds good, but it actually isn't enough to produce any good big wins, all because of the ridiculously low 4x and 6x win values of the high symbols, which also include the King and the Queen symbols. The lower symbols pay only 1x the total bet amount, so getting them would even be more disappointing!

To be honest, I quite like playing the game, but I was totally dissatisfied with the very low payouts. My best win during the free spins was only 149x, and I couldn't get any better win than that, even after playing a few more times on other occasions. Sorry to say, but failing to get better wins simply meant no more coming back to play for me!

I managed to trigger the free spins once, but not again after that. I took more than $80 of spins at minimum bet once and still no free spins, always just 2 scattered symbols. There is also a free spin feature. Like the wild symbol, the scatter symbol too appears on only 2nd, 3rd and 4th reels. I found on the pay-table but so far I have not managed to come to them in the game. In this game, so far I've made equal 200 spins. That is, 4 x 50 automatic spins with a bet of EUR 0.25 per spin, otherwise 0, 25 bet is the min bet on The Three Musketeers. The max bet is 100 euros per spin. Although I had only 200 spins on this game, I enjoyed in the atmosphere and the design which this game offers. This enjoyment quite cost me because I lost more than 20 euros. As it is the first time I play the "Quickspin" version of the slot "The Three Musketeers" I decided to do it on demo mode, also I want to say it just to leave the question open because the performance of this slot has been far better than I expected given its characteristics. Starting with the most superficial aspects, the design of this slot is quite attractive and is based on the famous adventure novel written by the French Alexandre Numas; slot’s layout has 5 reels and 3 rows, the number of paylines is 20 and you need to pay 5 additional coins for special feature when placing your bet; background music and sound effects are made with nice chamber music of Victorian age; not so nice is the low speed at which it spins the reels, which I find tedious at times but then I suppose that this aspect should not be so critical as long as we find positive aspects that keep us glued to the game.

A look at the paytable shows us that the size of payouts in this game are relatively small, but as we dig deeper in the game they begin to arise small features that make this game more and more interesting; within these we have for example that symbols of the musketeers are full body images so they occupy vertical space equivalent to 3 symbols, similar as if they appeared stacked and this has a positive influence on the development of this particular game. Wild symbol is also quite special since it also occupies 3 vertical spaces, when it occupies the entire reel, additional to replace standard symbols, it also raffles a multiplier between 1x and 4x to be applied to all the wins, regardless of whether or not it participated in the formation of some combination, this is something new for me.
