Some providers prefer to use the name ‘Monkey King’, but Playtech uses its original name of ‘Sun Wukong’, a Chinese legendary character from centuries ago. As usual, these legendary characters tend to possess incredible powers, were heroes in their time, so they should grab some initial attention from players in the know. For others not in the know, it is just one more Oriental-themed cantonized game, hehehe.
Playing with 15 paylines and with a starting bet of 0.15 per spin, this game should be attractive enough for players to try out and it certainly was for me. The paytable is quite good - getting 5 Wilds would pay 666x the total bet, but getting 5 Scatters would only pay 100x. The other regular symbols would pay from 40x downwards, but they’re not too low.
Activating the Free Spins feature game offers 3 choices of play mode - either 20 free spins with a 2x multiplier, 10 free spins with a 4x multiplier, or 8 free spins with a 5x multiplier. If you want bigger wins, go for the 8 free spins, otherwise, just stick with one of the other two options. Which one do I like best? Well, honestly speaking, I wouldn’t know, because I still couldn’t get even one free spins game so far! Sheesh! I guess I would most probably choose either the 20 or 10 free spins option.
Nevertheless, playing this Sun Wukong game was very disappointing for me! I started with $60 balance, played the game all the way from start to finish, and after hundreds of spins, I still couldn’t get one damn lousy free spins game! It reminds me very much of Safari Heat after it was ‘upgraded’ – dishing out mostly empty spins, with lots of Scatter misses, and damn blardy hard to get even one retrigger game during the free spins! With Sun Wukong, I got none - only 2 small miserable 21x and 27x wins in the base game play – argh! I’m very sure that this game had been ‘upgraded’ too some time back! So, what this means to me is very simple – avoid playing this game! Hahaha.
