Silver Fang was one game I've never heard of before, until one day I read about it being mentioned in one of the posts here in Askgamblers. This was quite a long time ago, maybe about 2 to 3 years. Some time after that, I tried playing it in a Microgaming casino, but the game was rather cold for me. Not only that, the casino itself was always cold for me, so I've never liked playing at that particular casino. Later on, I came across the game again in a multi-platformed casino, and decided to give it another try. And here's what I've found out about this Silver Fang game.
What made me try the game again had nothing to do with its graphics, which didn't impress me that much anyway, but for the Free Spins game that has a 5x multiplier for all wins. I am always in favour for games that have good multipliers for their free spins, and I usually hate those without any multipliers at all. The Wolf is the Wild symbol, 5 of which pays a low 1000x the line bet, much lower than the usual 5000x. It is not stacked in the base game but is stacked in the Free Spins game, which to me, is not really helping much in terms of additional winning chances. It substitutes for other symbols except the Scatter symbol, but doesn't double any wins with it. Dang! The Pawsprint is the Scatter symbol, 5 of which pays a low 50x the total bet, half the usual amount, and getting 3 or more of the Scatters trigger 15 free spins with all wins multiplied by 5x, and the Free Spins game can be retriggered too. This is the only part that I really like about about this game.
The logo 'Silver Fang' pays 750x, the Huskie Dog pays 500x, the Deers pay 250x, and the lower symbols pay from 150x to 100x, all per line bet for 5 of each kind. Sadly enough, all the symbols in Silver Fang doesn't have good values, except for the Free Spins game, making the paytable a low one. Hopefully the 50 paylines could generate more wins for better overall payouts.
One thing I have noticed about all Microgaming games is the very small number of winning spins in the Free Spins game, including the lack of retriggers. In this Silver Fang game, out of 15 free spins, only 1 to 4 spins would pay, all the others would be completely useless and payless. The worst was 1 paying spin, which paid only 9x my bet amount. The best was 98x, no retriggers, but wished it could have exceeded the 100x bet win amount. As for the stacked Wild symbols, I could only get a few 2-symbols stack. None of 3-symbols stack came, for yet another disappointment for me. Silver Fang is not the kind of game that I would like to play regularly. Nosirree.
