Polar Bash

Well, I've only recently had a bad outing with some penguins somewhere in the Arctic, or was that Antarctic, but never mind. The where is not that important, but the what is, and the what was the game Penguin Flash, by Rabcat, but used by Microgaming. It's one of the worst game I have ever played! I hope this next outing with more penguins aren't going to be like that, because all the characters in this Polar Bash game have a happy and jovial outlook, which in a way should reflect the nature of the game too.

The logo 'Polar Bash' is not the Wild symbol as I had expected it to be. It is the highest paying symbol, 5 of which pays a very nice 12,000x the line bet, or 600x the total bet. Why the 'Polar Bash' symbol isn't a Wild symbol as it should be, I really don't know and cannot figure out. Something probably went astray along the line and the designers forgot to make it the Wild symbol. A game without a Wild symbol is something I don't like at all, as much as I don't like any game without a Free Spins game. The 'North Pole' is the Scatter symbol, 5 of which pays 50x the total bet, which is only half the usual amount. Damn! First, there isn't any Wild symbol in this game. Then, the Scatters pay only half of what they should. What the argh! Getting 3 or more adjacent Scatter symbols trigger 25 free spins with all wins doubled, and more free spins can be retriggered.

There is also another Scatter symbol, the Fish, which is actually the Bonus symbol, 5 of which pays a very low 10x the total bet amount. Hmm, everything seems to be starting off on a bad foot, and that is not good at all. Getting 3, 4 or 5 adjacent Fish Bonus symbols trigger the Ice Fishing Bonus, whereby you pick 3 fishing holes to win up to 15,000 coins, or 750x the total bet amount. That may look like a good big win, but it may require playing at the maximum bets in order to win that much, so don't be fooled by it. The other symbols in the game pay from 5000x down to 100x the line bet for 5 of each kind. Well, I hate to say this, but this seems like a fairly good paytable. Why I hate to say it, is because there aren't any Wild symbols in the game, but even so, the values for the other symbols are indeed good high ones, except those for the Scatter and Bonus symbols. To be fair, I'll compromise and rate it as average, but on the high side.

As I have said earlier on, I like the happy icons in the game, and the game itself wasn't too bad, but wasn't good either. I managed to get a few of the Fishing Bonus games, which paid both low and fairly decent payouts of between 15x to 33x my bet amount. The Free Spins games fared slightly better, with payouts of between 13x to 55x my bet amount. With more plays, I wouldn't be surprised if higher and bigger wins could be achieved, simply because the symbol values are capable of providing them. A fairly good game to play with a possible maximum win of 1200x the total bet amount.

Polar Bash game is powered by microgaming. Cool game. I like it. Reminds me of the Lucky Shot game and i love that game. This is a 20 line game with two features. The free spins feature and the bonus feature. To get the free spins feature you have to get three or more north pole signs adjacent to each other. This awards you with 25 free spins with all wins doubled. The free spins can be re-triggered and i am happy to say that i have re-triggered it few times. My usual bet on this game is €0.40 or €0.60. max i ever won on free spins was €40. This was with a re-trigger and i think it could have been much better.

The second feature is the bonus. The player gets it when he gets three or more green fish adjacent to each other. This is a pick bonus, so for me its great. I never got a big win on this bonus, max i ever got was €13 on a €0.40 bet. I don't think that you could win a lot on this bonus, but who knows maybe with a big bet you could win a lot. I don't play this game all the times. I only play it when i played all of the other ones and have a bit of money left.

The graphics are average and the music is cheesy. Usually i have my own music playing in the background when i play this game. I wouldn't go as far as recommending this game, but i also would not call it bad. If i was to rate it i would give it 6 out of 10. Hope you enjoyed my review and have a nice day:)
