There is a wild symbol and it is in the form of the two ghost hunters although they do only happen appear on the 1st reel and the 5th reel. Good thing is that they will double the wins if they are used in a winning combination which happens to be 3 or more symbols, from left to right starting from the first reel.

Now the various ghosts in the game have their own winning sound for landing 3 or more symbols of that ghost, that shows the makers of this slot went to that extra length. Nice touch with this slot is if you get 2 scatters in the first 4 reels then the reels spin on the next reel and you will hear the music play in the anticipation tease for the needed 3rd scatter. Although some slots don’t have this type of tease it is good that Phantom Cash has it cause it increases the fun factor in my opinion and slots are about fun. When a scatter symbol lands you get to hear a drum sound and when another scatter lands after it you get another drum sound.. so there is no way of falling asleep while playing this slot if you have the sound on that is.

RTP for this game comes in at 96.41% which makes it a good RTP to play at and sits well above the average of 96% that you see most games.

The paylines are not adjustable and thus you are required to play all 25 paylines which means you can’t reduce your cost per spin less than 0.25. I would sometimes prefer to play at less lines than max on some slots but with this slot it is fixed at 25 so that is one negative about this game.

Wild symbols only appear on the 1st and 5th reels would have been far better if they could appear on all 5 reels but it is what it is.

When I first saw this game, Phantom Cash, I was quite impressed with its surreal images and graphics. It looks very nice, scary in a way even, though not to me, and full of dark mysteries associated with ghosts and such things. I was thinking 'hmm, this could be a good game to play, maybe like Avalon 2' perhaps. It's really a ghostbusting game, as I found out later on, with 2 guys on the hunt to eliminate all the ghosts in the eery house, reminding me of the movie Ghostbusters. That was an enjoyable movie, with great special effects for the ghosts. Well, I decided to play this game for the very first time, hoping it'll give me good fun and good wins, although deep inside, I knew that would be a miracle come true for me, because it's a MIcrogaming game.

The 2 guys, by the names of Thurmingham and Carstairs, are the ghostbusters in this game. Both are the Wild symbols. They don't pay anything for themselves, they don't become stacked or expanded, but both double all wins with them, and also substitute for other symbols except for the Scatter symbol. Thurmingham only appear on reel 1 and Carstairs appear only on reel 5, making Carstairs almost useless in the base game, because he only appears occasionally on reel 5 and doesn't really contribute to any winnings at all, well almost. The House is the Scatter symbol, 5 of which pays the usual 100x the total bet amount, and getting 3 or more of them triggers The Ghost Zap Feature. The Ghosts symbols pay from 40x to 16x the total bet amount, while the rest pay from 8x to 4x the total bet amount, for 5 of each kind. A disappointingly very low paytable!

In The Ghost Zap Feature game, the appearing Wild symbols of Thurmingham and Carstairs would capture all ghosts that land in their row and doubling all wins. If both Wilds appear on the same row, the wins would be 4x. Captured ghosts are filled into the Ghost Meter on the left side of the play area, reducing the number from 8 downwards. This feature game can be retriggered by getting 3 or more Scatters, thereby increasing the Ghost Meter by +8. The feature game ends when this Meter reaches zero. Hmm, frankly speaking, that doesn't sound interesting at all. The way the payouts are achieved, there aren't any possibility of getting any good wins. What a big disappointment this is.

Well, the paytable has already indicated poor payout possibilities, the Ghost Zap Feature game cannot produce any good sizeable wins, and my actual real money play on this game was nothing less than disastrous! I only managed to get 2 feature games, the first one after waiting 552 spins and the next one after another 445 spins, with a payout of 29x and 28x my bet amount, which were totally ridiculously low for the number of spins it needed to get them. What the argh!

There wasn't anything good that I could find in this Phantom Cash game, only that it is good for giving cash to the casino and the game provider. Sheesh! Okay, so the soundtrack was nice, eerie, and quite enjoyable, but that can never substitute the joy of winning! This is yet another big failure from Microgaming games!

The reels are set in a haunted house and there is a mysterious mechanical device above the reels. Most of the symbols are ghosts in different colours which makes them unique. You can see 2 ghost catchers on the reels one and five, which are called Thurmingham and Curstairs and they have the power to double the wins that they take part of. There is additional ghostly feel with the choral music coming from the background.

Also i played it probably two times, and can say that it is one of the worst MG releases for the all time. Also wilds here appear only on reels 1 and 5, and if it substitute, win multiplier by 2, 80 x total bet it is if win with wild, without wild such 5 of a kind will pay 40 x total bet. Microgaming what about did you think when create paytable for this video slot? I think they even not think, just put number at random. Feature here triggered by 3+ scatters, and 5 scatters here is best possible win, it will award x 100 total bet. Player will not get any amount of free spins, in free spins you need to collect 8 ghosts, and then free spins ends. I trigger this feature probably 5 times, and never ever break an 50 x total bet, i am not saying about 100 x, i can't even dream about it here. Also feature triggered not so often, and in base game this slot per my experience simply eat your money without stopping, just eat and eat, sometimes you win something like 10 x total bet and that's all.
