Monkey Money is nice themed video slot game from Betsoft software provider. Even if the game has 5 reels you can play it on only 9 paylines. It is quite different as other Betsoft games which offer 15 paylines or more. I tried this game a few times, when my balance was around 5€.

I have to say that I like to play some 9 paylines slot games. The most powerful Dead or alive from NetEnt is perfect to get huge mega win from only some pennies bet, but I do not think this could happen here. I played it mostly at 0,09€ bets, sometimes I tried with higher bets up to 0.36€ and never more than that. The main game is nothing special, I never won any big money on it. I expected some better winnings, all the time I got winnings around x2 to x5 of my bet.

This game has one bonus game and I like it. I like it because the main game is more interesting to play it, waiting to trigger bonus game and so on. This bonus appears quite often. I triggered it in around 20-30 spins which I made, every time. Later second screen show up and you have to select some coconuts.

I triggered bonus game a lot of times, but I never won more than x10 bet from it. I think the payouts are really small, poor here. Sometimes I select two coconuts before bonus game ended, but most of the time the bonus game ended after i selected one coconut. I think this is a bad bonus game, because it finished so fast. I did not expected it will end after I select only one coconut, and the prize was really small like x2 bet. Funny! I will rate this game with 4 stars, I am sure I will not play it again because of all small payouts which I got from it.

Monkey Money is one of the cutest slot games that I’ve recently played with. I think this is the best attribute of the game which is also a good and bad news at the same time. Though the graphics, design are just average but the overall visual effects are still very impressive and hardly think there is a gambler that wouldn’t love it. We can’t really speak a concept or theme of the game we can play here some nice and funny symbols like fruits, palm tree, golden coin and 7 but the absolutely star is the monkey character. The little animation that attached to the bonus game is really humorous and the way monkey acts there really makes it very likeable.

This 9-line product isn’t the most feature-rich game on the market and surprisingly some of the expected and must-have features also miss here. For example, the game doesn’t use Wild at all which is very uncommon nowadays when even more and more 3-reel classic slots offer that feature. So there are no substituting function, no win multiplier add-on and even no free spin feature so the game qualities are very limited. The only feature the game has is a Bonus secondary game which requires 3 collected Coconut icons to get started. This emblem only appears on the last reel so logically it takes for a while until 3 of them can get ours (the little lovely monkey holds the already-got ones on the right bottom side of the screen so we can monitor how coconut we’ve got). Once the bonus finally starts we can see 4 palm trees containing 4x2 coconuts and we have to choose from them until a rotten one is picked. After selecting one our monkey buddy climb the tree to remove the coconut and reveals its instant prize.

It’s really funny how our little buddy does its job but in moneywise standpoint it’s not a too generous side game and most of the case the maximum reward can’t exceed x8 - x10 times of the total bet but I was never succeed in choosing more than 2 coconuts and every time when I picked one for the third time it was always a bad choice.

I’m sad to say but this slot is much sweeter than to be anything what can be called a good slot game. Though the top prize is 5000 coins which is acceptable but I never felt I had a chance to win that and all of the missing game elements results my negative opinion about this product. Nowadays this is not enough (and probably never was) if a slot is only just very cute, it must prove to have other segment that can make players satisfied and must have some potential. In my opinion Monkey Money isn’t fit to this category and much improvement would be needed to consider it even a good game.
