Legend of the Ice dragon is one of the latest games that was released by Play'n Go. I always like to try new Play'n Go games as I am generally a fan of their games- and they always have great graphics. Besides when the game came out, I had seen a few big wins from other players so I was even more interested in the game.

The game is inspired by a mythology theme and the main character is the ice dragon himself. And as always, I think that Play'n Go has done a great job with the game design, it's definitely a game that's pleasant to look at. When it comes to the technical aspects, the game has a cluster pays mechanic and all you need to do to create a win is to match at least 5 symbols. Then the winning symbols disappear and new ones come into place. What's very important in this game is to get as many consecutive wins as possible, since the game has a collection meter. Achieving 20 winning symbols unlocks the first feature, then the next feature triggers once you get 40, 60 and 80 winning symbols. I have to say that getting that many consecutive wins can be quite difficult. I've spent several sessions with this game and the game can definitely run dry easily. But I personally enjoy the collection mechanic, as it adds a chase element for this game. And achieving the entire 80 winning symbols that unlock the ice dragon symbol can be rewarding.

As for the features, there's a few that you can land. First of all, on a non winning spin you can get different features that remove certain symbols and add wilds to the reels. I can say that several times these base game features have helped with collecting symbols to trigger the meter features. And as for the meter features, they are quite interesting too. One of them turns all high value symbols into one, then there's a feature that turns symbols into wilds as well as the feature that removes all low paying symbols. Having said that, the game is very similar to Wild Frames, as there are W symbols that are sticky- and once you've charged the meter, all the W symbols turn into wilds- just like in Wild Frames. Therefore you want to get as many of them as possible, creating "wild frames" in the reels.
However, if you don't have many of the W frame symbols or they're not matching with premiums, the payouts can be low. I've had the Ice Dragon feature paying as little as 40x bet and as high as 200x bet thus far. And again, it can take a while to actually get the feature since you need so many consecutive wins.

Overall I do like this game as I like the cluster pays mechanic, the design is great too. However, I've played this game many times and only once had a win around 200x bet, otherwise I've only experienced low payouts. Even with minimum bets it can eat a balance of 100 euros quickly. So while I enjoy the gameplay, it's definitely a highly volatile game.

You need to fill up a meter by collecting winning symbols, you collect 20, you will get the tail lash feature that turns all high-paying symbols into the same one. Then there Is the Ice Scroch that lands 3 – 6 wilds on the reels, then destruction removed all low-paying symbols. Eventually, the final stage is the dragon blast where all wild spots on the reels are turned wild!

The design is great, it's very highly volatile so don’t expect a wild frames play here, this game can go 500 spins without giving a bonus at all, but you can get decent base game wins as well. This slot is highly volatile and graphics are great too! Biggest win personally is under 200x.
