King of Monkeys is 5 reels and 243 pay-lines video slot powered by GameArt software provider. This slot is inspired with Asian culture, but it is sort of anime meets sci-fi kind of theme. Great graphics and animation but there is no background music, which can be considered both a pro or con, depending on what you like better. Reels are gold rimmed and set against the barren landscape in sundown. You should give this slot a spin here for free or visit GameArt Casinos to play for real.
Before you set out to this adventure, you should set your betting range the way it suits your needs the best. By clicking on "Bet Multiplier" you will set the coin denomination which ranges from 0.01 to 0.50. By clicking on "Autoplay" the reels will turn without interruption for a chosen number of times, whereas "Spin" will set the reels in motion once.
Chinese rune is the Wild symbol in the game and it substitutes for all the symbols except for the scatter. If you land 5 Wilds on an active payline, you will be awarded with x100 total bet.
Temple Door is the Scatter symbol and it can form scatter wins. If you land 3 or more of these anywhere on the reels you will trigger Bonus feature. During the bonus feature you will be awarded with some spins. If during the feature you land 3 symbols of Tang Sanzang’s students on the consecutive reels or the Wild, the Dragon feature will get triggered.
During the Dragon feature, a Dragon will fly over the reels and transform all triggering symbols into the same symbol which is chosen among the students and the Monkey King.
King of Monkeys is the Bonus symbol and it awards high payouts if you land 3 or more on an active payline. King of Monkey symbol will appear only if you land 3 Sanzang’s Students on the consecutive reels.

King of monkeys is one of the latest releases from GameArt. 243 ways to pay is enough to get you entertained from minimum bet of $0.30 per spin. As always, I like GameArt graphics, but never actually listen to their sound in their slots, at times it's just quiet and you hear the reels spin and certain sounds whenever bonus is about to trigger.
I don’t know why they titled it King of Monkeys, because you only find 1 monkey in the base game and another who is most probably the king in the free spins feature. I suppose it is based with some ancient/legends/gods or some old school story.
The games lower paying symbols is not your typical card deck symbols. It has like flower, scroll and some other Chinese related items with Chinese drawings or symbols on it and some high paying monkey symbols I guess? Not 100% sure how It fits, since it’s a pig, but you would not care about them that much as the wild symbol is the one you want and of course the king of monkey symbol during free spins.
The base game plays very well, your balance is steady, and you win at least 3 out of 5 spins. Although he wins are not a lot it certainly is a slot to consider using for wagering. The base game standard pays are x1 – x4 your bet on average, here and there x10 – 20 but rarely really happens, as the free spins feature is where you would get most of your profits.
Landing 3 temple scatter symbols would give you 10 free spins. Now the free spins feature has a special feature and I have never seen anything like it before. All high paying symbols landing on the reels and connecting with each other change into a random select high paying symbol including wild and the king of monkey symbol. When this occur, it makes more ways to pay so you can win up to 243 ways which would be a huge win. If you have played Kingdom of the sun by Playson, well its the same as that bonus feature without the fixed pay lines though.
I like this slot, I won about x2200 during the free spins feature and I realised the potential this slot has. I always play this slot when I get the chance.
