Karate Pig is a vibrant 40-payline video slot running on the Microgaming software platform. The Karate Pig Logo is a stacked wild and the 2 scatters are the Karate Pig Bonus symbol and the Golden Stork symbols. Players are welcome to try the slot on this page for free or visit any of the featured Microgaming casinos to play the game for the real money.
To spin the reels filled with various Karate Pig characters, players should regulate the bet first. The coin value, ranging from 0.01 to 0.1, can be adjusted by clicking +/-. “Lines” selects the number of active paylines and “Coins” is used to choose the number of coins to bet. “Spin” initiates the game and “Bet Max” spins the reels at the highest wager. Should players wish to play automatically for a number of times, “Expert” needs to be clicked and then “Autoplay”.
If 2 Golden Stork symbols emerge on reels 1 and 5, players are awarded 15 Free Spins, where all wins are doubled. Free Spins can be retriggered if 2 additional Golden Storks appear during the current Free Spins.
When 3 or more Karate Pig Bonus symbols appear on the reels, the Karate Bonus is triggered. Players need to decide between the Pork Chop Bonus and the Hammer Bonus. In both bonus rounds players choose from 6 options to reveal prizes. After each bonus game, players receive a Karate Belt. Once they reach the 7th belt, which is the black belt, they enter the Final Showdown, which consists of 3 rounds where players can win even more prizes.

When I see this game, it reminds me of the old movie Karate Kid, which was entertaining to watch. Seeing the Kung Fu Pig in this game reminds me of another Kung Fu opponent, Kung Fu Panda, a very enjoyable and hilarious cartoon movie indeed, that has since spawned more movie sequels and even cartoon TV serials. Well, whoever would have expected big fat panda could be a Kung Fu expert, right? That makes its movies and its serials much more interesting. I could say almost the same thing for this Karate Pig game, in terms of its entertainment value, and a little bit of the hilarious part too. I giggled when I saw the Kung Fu Pig couldn't break another ice cube in the Hammer Bonus game. That was quite hilarious, hehehe.
I've played this game many times before, some years back, I liked the game, so I decided to play it again to refresh my memory. I have no complaints on the graphics in this game. They are all very well presented, of nice big icon sizes, and easily distinguishable too. I like that. It's easy on my eyes. The accompanying soundtracks are so lively it suits the mood of the game beautifully, and needless to say, all those happy animal faces make the game so much more entertaining. It's not often that I can praise any of Microgaming games, but this is one of them.
The logo 'Karate Pig' is the Wild symbol, pays 50x the total bet for 5 of them, and comes fully stacked on all reels, both in the base game as well as in the Free Spins game. Pity about the very low win value though. There are 2 Scatter symbols in this game. The Pig is the Bonus Scatter symbol, it doesn't pay for itself, but getting 3 or more of them triggers the Karate Bonus game. The Goldcoin Scatter symbol only appears on reels 1 and 5, and getting both of them at the same time triggers 15 free spins with all wins doubled. More free spins can be retriggered. The Kung Fu Pig symbol pays 18.75x the total bet for 5 of them, and all the other symbols pay from 6.25x to 1.12x the total bet for 5 of each kind. Sadly though, the paytable falls into the low category, making really nice big wins so much more difficult to get.
In the Karate Bonus game, you pick to play either the 'Pork Chop' or the 'Hammer' Bonus game. Each bonus game advances the belt to the next higher level. Reach the 7th belt level and prepare for a Final Showdown bonus game. I have not been able to reach this 7th level yet, so far, so I cannot describe what goes on or what could be won. More prizes, no doubt, but up to how much I wouldn't know. In the Porkchop Bonus game, you get 3 picks of the hanging barrels to win prizes. In the Hammer Bonus game, you pick one tarp at a time for the Kung Fu Pig to break to win prizes. Picking ends when that ice cube cannot be broken, and this is where the hilarious scene is. Hehehe.
As fun as the game goes, waiting for the Free Spins game to be triggered can be real hard. The Bonus games tend to come easier, but the big win possibilities are all in the Free Spins game, because of the Stacked Wilds on all reels and with all wins doubled. The few Free Spins games that I had only paid mediocrely. The Stacked Wilds just wouldn't appear onto the reels most of the time, thereby not providing the chances for big wins. Only once I got 4 of those Stacked Wilds, which paid me 91x my bet amount, and just short of breaking the 100x win mark. That was my best score so far. Nonetheless, Karate Pig is a good game to play if you're not aiming for sky-high wins.
