K9 Capers may sound a little odd for a game title, but seeing the doghouse icon, everything falls into place. K9 is for canine, what else, and the game is all about two canines, Butch and Fifi, the pink poodle. Pink poodle? Yep, to show that Fifi there is a female poodle, and Butch there isn't. Well, I'm not much of a dog lover, preferring felines instead, but anyone can play this game. It's a very straightforward game, with only one feature game to aim for, and that's the 'K9 Capers' feature game, what else. It's an oldie game and the graphics shows that. Nothing much to like on its appearance, so hopefully the gameplay can make up for all its shortcomings.

Butch, the male dog, is the Wild symbol, and is a truly dumb symbol. It only substitute other symbols except for Fifi, the Scatter symbol. It expands into a Wild Reel on reel 3 when in a winning combination, but doesn't double any wins. Hmm. That doesn't help much at all in creating winning chances. What a shame. Fifi, the pink Poodle, is the Scatter symbol, paying 100x the total bet for 5 of her, and getting 3 or more of Fifi triggers the K9 Capers feature game. For the symbols, the Neck Collar pays 6000x, the Doghouse pays 3000x, the Dish pays 1000x, the Doll pays 500x and the rest pay from 250x to 100x, all per line bet for 5 of each kind. The paytable is slightly on the low side, but is acceptable enough. Not too bad.

In the K9 Capers feature game, Fifi is hiding in one of the 5 locations. Find Fifi in as little picks of the locations as you can. Finding Fifi in 1 pick pays 100x the total bet. In 2 picks, 25x. In 3 picks, 10x, but in the last 4th pick, the prize drops to just 3x the total bet amount. So finding Fifi in 1 or 2 picks is essential to win a good or decent prize. Other than this feature game there is nothing else to look for. There aren't any Free Spins game either.

I guess the worst part of playing this K9 Capers game is the lack of interesting features in it. That Butch expanding on reel 3 only certainly isn't exciting enough, because it doesn't double any wins with it. The pick-and-win feature games too are rather dull and boring, always ending up with low to mediocre wins of less than 10x the total bet, and up to 30x the total bet amount, as far as I have won them. Getting it right with the first pick requires lots of luck. A small chance in getting it, but not impossible. I didn't get it of course. What's more, the highest possible win in this game is only 200x the total bet for getting 5 of those Dog Collar symbols on a payline. Hardly incentive enough for big-wins hunters, and not even attractive enough for casual players.

This is a game I have wasted my money on and my free time. K9 Capers is a game that has nothing to offer. I believe this is an old slot so probably that is the reason. Actually when I think well, there are some old slots that might be simple but can pay well. This game has nothing interesting in it. I got some free spins in a casino so I wanted to try something new. I wanted to try a game that I have never played before so I chose this one.

This is a 5 reel slot with 30 pay lines. One good thing about this game is that you can start playing at very low bet and then raise it if you feel lucky, even though I doubt that can happen. This is a game that is run by Microgaming software and the hero of this game is the dog named Butch and it tries to find Fifi. Some other symbols include a Collar, Kennel, Dog Bowl, Doll and the card symbols from 10 through K. Fifi is the scatter symbol and the Butch dog is the wild in this game.

Another thing that I dislike in this game is that it does not offer free spins. Even the bonus game is not interesting at all. If you get 3 or more scatters you have to try and find Fifi. What is worse you have to find it as soon as possible to get more money. I do not know what else to say about this game. I do not know what the creator of this game was thinking. If you read this review I would warmly suggest that you choose a different game to play. It is a well known fact that you will not win on every game but at least you will have more fun while playing, and with this game you will only feel annoyed. At least that is how I felt.

K9 Capers, a Microgaming slot presenting in for 30 paylines and a hide & seek bonus game. Come to think of it, this slot looks like it has been made by a dog. For dog lovers everywhere you will appreciate what K9 Capers can deliver, from the special expanding Butch substitute to the amusing hide and seek bonus....triggered when the female dog Fifi scatters lands for 3.

My advice when playing the bonus game is to take the time to think about where Fifi would be in the bonus screen because you may encounter 100x your bet in a single pick. This only applies if your 1st pick finds the female poodle. Other picks result in a significantly lower payout from 25x on 2nd pick to a low 3x total bet on the 4th pick. To me she's usually hiding out behind the tree or in the tool shed. I get frustrated a few times in one bonus where I pick the shed...she comes out from the tree and in another bonus I picked the tree this time and she was hidden in the shed lol. Such great memories. 50x win on my $1.20 triggering bet = $60 is what I usually collect but rarely for 10x.

The problem with K9 Capers weighs in with a few matters. For one thing, the only substitute in this game is that on the 3rd reel Butch (the male dog) will expand when the spin results for a win but....that's about it in terms of wilds. They aren't scattered traditionally as with the other Microgaming slots.

The other problem stems from lack of big base game wins since the wilds are mostly on vacation. By taking these wilds away (except for the special expanding wild) there is a lesser chance of hitting big/multiple win combinations on K9 Capers. The only big win to expect is from a 5 of a kind combination!
