Jade the magician has some gemstones symbols, which are you low paying symbols and as well as eagles, tigers and dragons which is high paying symbols. The dragon pays x2500 your line bet, which is good and if you can get the wild x2 symbol on the middle reel you can easily double your winnings. Symbols also appear stacked, boosting your winnings as well.

The Jade Magician is the scatter symbol – if you get 2 on the reels on the same spin, you will trigger the second chance feature. You then choose 1 of 4 symbols to reveal an award – you can win a small cash prize or find the hidden scatter to trigger the Free Spin feature.

The Free Spin feature can be triggered when you get the Jade Magician scatter simultaneously on reels 1, 3 and 5. You will receive 5 free spins. The Jade Magician symbol becomes an extra wild for the duration of the feature. For every Jade Magician scatter/wild symbol appearing on reel 1, 3 and 5 during free spins add an extra 2 free spins. I am not sure if the free spins are unlimited, but I think it is. I think I got over 20 free spins once, bagging a nice x135 my bet during the free spins feature.

I love this game because I love Grimm Muerto which is similar to this , especially the second chance feature really make these slots worthwhile because it is very difficult to trigger the feature by getting 3 scatter symbols during 1 spin. 90% of the time, I enter free spins by using the second chance feature.

Play'nGo fans would not have any problems in seeing that this new game isn't a new game at all, but is yet another clone of Lady Of Fortune, or Pimped, or Holiday Season, or 7 Sins. They all play with the same game basics, except for minor refreshes in the graphics or paytable. For Jade Magician, the difference now is that the game plays with 15 paylines instead of the usual 10 paylines. Although the graphics are nice enough, it isn't as striking as in 7 Sins, and the icons are also a little smaller. Nonetheless, you'll either love this game or you'll hate it, as usual.

The Jade Magician, the Lady, is the Scatter symbol in the base game, but is both the Wild and the Scatter symbol during the free spins. It doesn't pay anything for itself, dumbly enough, and it doesn't even double any wins with it. There's a separate 2x symbol to multiply wins with it. This Scatter symbol doesn't become stacked or expanded, but in the base game, getting any 2 Scatter symbols would trigger a Second Chance feature, whereby you pick 1 of 4 icons to get that third Scatter symbol for the Free Spins game, or win an instant cash reward, or get an 'X' and win nothing. During the Free Spins game, any appearing Scatter adds 1 more free spin, but getting all 3 Scatters would retrigger the game with another 5 free spins. Unlike in the other similar cloned games, the number of free spins can go above 20, so better chances of getting more and bigger wins with this Jade Magician. I like this.

Any 3 same adjacent symbols anywhere on the reels is considered a win, left-to-right or right-to-left, so there's better chances of striking a hit, theoretically that is, because in reality, all hits are determined by the game's algorithms. Only the way the hits are made differs slightly.

The Jade Magician Wild symbol substitutes for all symbols during the free spins, but appears only on reels 1, 3 and 5, so there's absolutely no way of getting 5 Wild symbols. The '2x' symbol is the Multiplier symbol, appearing only during the free spins, and doubles all wins with it. As for the other symbols in the game, the Dragon pays 2500x, the White Tiger pays 1000x, the Phoenix pays 500x, and the rest pay from 250x to 75x, all per line bet for getting 5 of each kind. Paytable wise, it can only be a low one, what with the non-paying Wild and Scatter symbols in the game. Too bad.

Playing the game can be good for some, or terribly bad for others. Strangely enough, I've been getting pretty good gameplays with certain Play'nGo games, especially with Holiday Season, but only until lately though, when all the games seem to have suddenly turned cold. With Jade Magician, I managed to get big wins very early on, from 107x total bet up to a very good 497x, thanks to getting 5 White Tigers on 3 paylines, one of which was with that 2x multiplier. I also managed to get up to 23 free spins in that same winning Free Spins game. I couldn't even get such a good payout from Pimped, and Holiday Season proved to be a smaller sister of Pimped, with smaller but more regular payouts. Jade Magician may be better than Pimped, or not, but I guess only time can tell the truth. Nonetheless, Jade Magician is one of my favourite Play'nGo games, for now at least.

As for the wild, this symbol does not seem to be really relevant since it only appears on reel 3 and does not seem to influence much on your results since it does not occur very often.

On the other hand, the free spin round is a better promise as the initial round of 5 free games can be re-triggered with the appearance of 3 scatters during the same spin, or extend the round by +1 with each scatter if only one or two of these symbols appear on the reels; in addition, this Jade Magician scatter acquires properties of wild symbol that allow you to certainly take better advantage of your free spins.

The longest round I could enjoy was extended from 5 to 19 spins in total, and in that same round, it was precisely when I got my best big win that finally ended with a profit of 45x my total bet.

Despite the interesting features of this game, from beginning to end, my balance remained negative, and I think the main reasons for this are the tight prices established by Play'n GO and the poor performance of the slot during the base game; and while it is true that the 3 most highly paid symbols in the game pay 2500, 1000 and 500 times your bet per line for 5 of a kind lines, I never managed to form a single line of 5 of a kind with those specific symbols throughout my session, and I think not more than 3 lines of 4 of a kind either.

I think this has been a fun-rich experience, but I think that ultimately the winning potential of “Jade Magician” has not met my most elementary expectations.
