There aren't many ice-themed games from Playtech, the best known being Penguin Vacation, a good game with very good win potentials. About 2 or 3 years ago, Playtech released this Ice Run game, with similar concepts to Penguin Vacation, albeit with some minor changes. When I first played this game, I wasn't that impressed, simply because I couldn't get any nice good win from it, and the Free Spins games that I had gotten were rather quite poor in their payouts, not until I played it again recently that is.

The main attraction in Ice Run is the Expanding Wild symbol, which can be activated both in the base game as well as during the free spins. Landing the Boy, the Wild symbol, in the middle of reel 3, turns it into a full Wild Reel, and 2 Ice Breaker Respins are awarded. Landing The Boy on reels 2, 3 and 4 gets 3 full Wild Reels but with only 1 Ice Breaker Respin, but this is where the big wins can occur, especially if activated during the free spins with its 3x multiplier. Unfortunately, this Wild symbol is a non-paying symbol, so this is one disappointment for me! The Igloo is the Scatter symbol, paying the usual 100x the total bet for getting 5 of them, and getting 3 or more Igloos award 10 free spins with all wins tripled. More free spins can be retriggered, and I like this.

The Huskies is the Bonus symbol, appearing only on reels 1 and 5, and getting them awards the Ice Run Bonus game. In the first scene, hit 3 of the 7 Snowmen to win cash prizes. In the second scene, pick 1 of 3 Igloos to win a multiplier of either 2x, 3x or 5x. The wins from these Bonus games are never that big enough, nor satisfactory enough, even with a 5x multiplier, but at least it keeps the game going. The Girl is the highest paying regular symbol, at 4000x the line bet for getting 5 of them, but the other symbols have much lower values of 500x down to just 50x the line bet, making the paytable a low one.

Nevertheless, playing this Ice Run game is interesting and thrilling enough, with decently big win potentials with its 3 Wild Reels feature. I only managed to get this 3 Wild Reels once, in the base game unfortunately, but the payout was a nice 295x my bet amount - the Girl symbol appeared on both reels 1 and 5, for 5-of-a-kind win. Had this win been in a free spin play, it would have paid a lovely 885x win! Ah well, maybe next time, hehehe.

This time "Playtech" has been inspired by the Arctic and in daily life of Eskimos to create the theme of its slot called "Ice Run," which has a relaxing theme with lots of blue and characters very charismatic that not importing the cold they go out their homes not only for their livelihood but also to have fun with what they find along the way. Then I started a long run of games with small or no payouts at times improved but in one of the worst moments this streak led me to a big slump, I known this often happens on slots that rely heavily on their special features, however my goal it was to hold on until it happened again one of the special features since I had already experienced their great potential; my strategy was to slowly increase my bet every certain number of turns and a half hour and five bet levels after finally it did happen the best feature of the game, Ice Breaker, this time accompanied by the girl symbol just on the middle file on reel 1, which incidentally is the best paid symbol of all the game, hence I could recoup about $ 90 I was losing so far and additionally win another $ 310, doing math, this re-spin represented me a prize of 163 times my total bet, this is what I call a slot of high variance.

In short, I think "Ice Run" is a slot that has great potential to take advantage of it, although it is well known that these type of games must be faced with patience and a good capital that help us to withstand unfavorable streaks; if you like volatile slots, I think this would be a good choice to play.

Ice Run is winter themed video slot from Playtech software provider. It has 5 reels with 25 paylines. I like colors into this game; all in blue. The music is also good. I played it a long time ago while I was playing at Playtech casinos.

Ice run offer three different features: bonus game, free spins feature and ice breaker re-spins. Free spins feature starts when you get at least three scatter symbols on the reels. You get 10 free games with x3 multiplier. When I played, I never triggered free spins feature but I think it should be fun to play with x3 multiplier. During base game I never had any decent winnings, maybe into free spins is different.

Ice run bonus is ok, but nothing special when I talk about pay outs. I triggered it once and I won around x10 bet. First you have to hit 3 out of 7 snowmen for cash and later you have to pick one igloo for multiplier. At the end you get your cash multiplied with different multiplier which you select and this is your winnings. I think this bonus would be more fun if there would be higher prizes. The multiplier is ok, but the prizes is too small. I saw higher prize of just 2,5€ which is not so good.

The ice breaker re-spin could appears into main game and also during free games. I triggered it a few times into main game, but I did not won anything big on it. Only some pennies. I think this feature could provide some decent winnings when appear during free games where is x3 multiplier.

After all I think this is a decent game from Playtech software company. But I do not play it so often, the main reason is because I had no luck on it and I rather play other video slots where I had better luck. I will rate it with 7 stars.

The prizes into bonus game could be higher, not only just some couple of pennies.

Ice Run is one of the best Playtech slots in my opinion. From idea for theme to graphics and all that feature which this slot have all is just great. The best thing is that this slot is very interesting and fun and you can’t be bored by this slot.

When I entered here I saw interesting theme and why not I tried this. This slot have so many great features and you can’t play here for a long time and don’t get one of those. Bonus game is really interesting, if you get two special symbols (on first and last reel) you enter in bonus round. In bonus round I had to hit snowmen and enter in few igloos and all that is very very interesting : ). Beside bonus round you also have free spins. Free spins are just like on a lot of other slots. You must to get three symbols for free spins (three igloos) and you get 10 free spins with multiplier 3x. It is not exciting like bonus round but I must admit that more money you can win on free spins than on bonus round. I also love wild symbol “ice breaker”. When you get that symbol all wins from that spins pays of course and you get one free spins with that expanded symbol all over reel when you get it. That is great way to combine great win.

I lost that money first time when I played this slot but I returned a lot of times and sometimes I was lucky sometimes not but in general I love this slot and I will always play this slot because it is created with a lot of imagination and interesting details and I love it.
