Happy Fruits

Another fruits game, but I'm not complaining, because I don't mind playing fruit games at all, I prefer them over animals or insects. This game from Novomatic has a happy beginning, even before you start playing the game. The graphical presentation of the fruits may not be that nice or astounding, but at least they are all looking happy, smiling and jovial. I like that. Makes me happy to play the game too.

This 20-paylines fruit game doesn't play like the usual old fruit games, but rather has a touch of contemporariness in the way the game plays and provides feature games. The Yellow Star is the Wild symbol, 5 of them paying 25x the total bet, but is a dumb symbol. It only substitute other symbols to create wins. The Scatters come in 3 varieties, each one awarding a different feature game, doesn't pay for themselves, and appearing only on reels 2, 3, 4 and 5. So there can be no wins for getting 2, 3, 4 or 5 Scatters. The 3 different feature games are the Splat Bonus, triggered by getting 3 or more of the 'Splat' symbols, the Super 7, triggered by getting 3 or more of the '7' symbols, and the Crazy Streak, triggered by getting 3 or more of the Key symbols. The logo 'Happy Fruits' is stacked on all reels, and getting 5 of them pays 12.5x the total bet. The other lower symbols pay from 7.5x down to 5x the total bet. A very low paytable indeed.

Perhaps most players may enjoy playing the 3 Bonus feature games, but for me, it isn't so, because the 'Splat' and the '7' Bonus feature games are of the pick-and-win kind. Pick one of the 'Splat' symbol to win a total bet multiplier, and pick one of the '7' symbol to win an even higher total bet multiplier. The maximum win is 500x the total bet. Getting 3 or more of the Key Bonus symbol awards a mini-slot game of matching symbols on the reels with that on the paytable. I like this mini-slot game, but getting that 500x total bet win is another thing altogether. Getting 3 Killer Tomatoes end the game. Most of the payouts for all the 3 different Bonus feature games are within 10x - 20x total bet range. I have seen the 500x, the 250x and the 100x wins in the picks but it wasn't the ones that I had picked.

As the title of the game suggests, playing Happy Fruits can be a happy one, if you're one of the lucky ones, but I wasn't, unfortunately. Nonetheless, the game was quite enjoyable to play for a while, perhaps for longer if I had made a win, but don't go chasing for bigger wins that 500x the total bet. That is the limit that anyone can win on Happy Fruits.
