Gold Lab is a new game from Quickspin software. I had seen some articles about this upcoming game release so when it landed I was interested to try it out. The game has 5 reels and 25 paylines and it is inspired by lab theme. In my opinion this game has a few nice qualities. First of all it is really affordable and you don't need large balance to play it. Secondly it is very simplistic- it has only one bonus round and it is respins bonus. There are 4 beakers and each of them has their own scatter symbol. When you get 3 matching beaker scatters on reels 1, 3 and 5, you get 4 respins. The beaker that triggered respins will appear as wild and if you get more beaker bonus symbols in different colors during re spins, for each you'll get one re spin and they will turn into wilds too. In other words, if you are lucky to get more beaker bonus symbols, you can make all beakers into wilds and since they appear very frequently on the spins, it is possible to have most parts of screen covered with wilds. However, from my experience it is really hard. The respins themselves aren't to hard to get as you need any of the 4 beakers to have matchy scatters to get spins, but it seems nearly impossible to get extra respins and unlock other wilds with beaker scatters. Also the payouts in general seem very low and I would get a maximum of 50x bet win.

Overall Gold Lab is a decent game but it definitely won't be a game I play often. It has nice design and it gives small, regular winnings, which is good when you're wagering some bonus, but so far I haven't had any winnings near 100x bet so I don't think this will be a game that will bring great wins.

The Wild symbol pays 8x the total bet for 5 of them, the Red Gem 6x, the Blue Gem 4x, and the Beakers 2.4x the total bet. Since any one of the 4 coloured beakers can make the gold, hence they all have the same win value. The Wild symbols are stacked in the Golden Bonus game.

Playing the game cannot be more simpler. The highlighted coloured Beakers are the Scatter symbols, appearing only on reels 1, 3 and 5, and getting all 3 of the same colour at the same time activates the Golden Bonus game of 4 Respins. There aren't any other feature game other than that Golden Bonus 4 Respins game, but considering that the Golden Bonus game do tend to come quite often and regularly, there isn't any dire need for any other. However, some long dry empty runs can be expected, as in any other games, so don't ever lose concentration and focus on the game, or you may end up disastrously. Hmm, needless to say, I lost my focus in one of my games, got too excited in trying to chase those coloured beakers, and ended up with zero balance very quickly! This game can make you lose your focus and concentration easily, I'm telling you now, so do be aware of it!

The only thing that I don't quite like about this Gold Lab game is the very low paytable. Similarly with another of Quickspin's game, The Wild Chase, its low paytable just couldn't produce wins big enough to satisfy hungry players like me. But Gold Lab has a slightly better paytable than The Wild Chase, so let's hope that better wins can be had from this game. Yet to be seen.
