Playtech fans would still remember the oldie game ‘A Night Out’, a very popular game then, but not so nowadays. That game features a pick-a-lady round to determine the number of free spins (up to 20 free spins), followed by a pick-a-drink round to determine the free spins multiplier (up to 10x). This latest Gaelic Luck game follows A Nightly Out’s concept, but with a downgraded paytable, to suit the current trend of lowish wins.

Looking at the paytable, getting 5 Wilds would still pay an excellent 500x the total bet, but 5 Scatters would pay only 50x, and the regular symbols from 50x down to 5x. Not that bad really, but the actual game play turned out to be very disappointing indeed, unlike A Night Out. The number of free spins is determined by picking one out of the 3 Ladies, to win 3 up to 20 free spins, then pick one out of the 6 Clovers to get 2x up to 10x multipliers.

Let me just say here that the picks may award only 3 free spins with a 2x multiplier, which is totally ridiculous, because it isn’t easy at all to activate the free spins feature game at any time, as I found out after several plays on this game. On another pick, I got 4 free spins with again a 2x multiplier, which paid a final win of 2x my staked amount! The earlier 3 free spins game paid a zero win! Totally absurd payouts, if I may say so, because the old Playtech games never gave any zero win – it always would pay a win! I should know better because I have been playing Playtech games for over 20 years now!

On another note, retriggers during the free spins play should be possible, but I have hardly seen anything close to getting it so far. Not only that, I managed to get a nice combination of 20 free spins with a 7x multiplier, but that game only gave me a miserable 96x win. In comparison, a 200x to 300x win would have been the standard payout of the old games, so getting big wins from this Gaelic Luck game may be a real rarity indeed! A very disappointing game!
