Dragons Fire Megaways is one of the games I enjoy the most from Red Tiger. The game is inspired by their Dragon's Fire slot which used to be one of my favorites from Red Tiger. However, when I first tried Dragons Fire Megaways, it immediately made it on my Red Tiger favorites' list.
Dragons Fire Megaways is a pretty exciting slot as it is basically the original Dragons Fire slot but with added megaways. I like the fact that they have kept the original theme and this for me feels like an elevated version.Â
As it goes with megaways games, the slot is very highly volatile. In the base game at any time the dragon can land and add scatter symbols on the screen or random wilds. Besides, every time you get a win, the next spin will be with an added multiplier, so if you have many consecutive wins, you can get nice base game hits. I haven't really had any higher wins on base game than 100x bet but it certainly adds an extra value to the base game. The one thing I do miss about the base game is that there's no avalanche feature- so when you get a win, there's no cascade so you can't get new wins on the same spin as it often is with Megaways games.
However, the free spins is where the big wins can happen. For 3 or more scatters you get to pick one of the eggs to reveal your free spins amount- again something they've kept from the original game which I enjoy. But the best part is that the wild multiplier is sticky and the winning symbols will cascade, so it's easier to build up a good multiplier. I personally love the bonus round as it's exciting, besides the dragon can add scatters or wild symbols during the bonus round too. Because of this, I once had a win over 3500x bet during a tournament.Â
Overall, this is a volatile game but I can certainly say it has a lot of potential. Besides my biggest win in a tournament, I've had several wins from 300x-600x bet and the bonus round is exciting due to the multipliers and retrigger possibilities. It's one of my favorites from Red Tiger, it is affordable as the minimum bet is only 10 cents and I recommend to give it a try if you enjoy megaways games.
Personally, I'm not a big fan of this provider, simply because my balance its easily crushed on most of their titles. Fortunately, some titles in their portfolio which they are quite interesting - especially... when Balance is not crushed, Hehe!
One of the most hot titles from Red Tiger Gaming, gets a Megaways™ makeover. The Mighty Dragon, unleashes its flames upon the 6 reels with 117.649 Ways to Win mechanic on any spin. The Dragon’s breath can also add Freespin symbols that trigger the Free spins feature. Also, wins can be Multiplied by the ‘Dragon’s Eye Boosts’ and Dragon’s Egg Multipliers.
The brilliant graphics, include a Mighty Dragon that has its wings spread around the reels, as though it’s attempting to protect its treasure from anyone that dares to grab!
An attractive slot from Red Tiger Gaming with High action Volatility.
Did I specifically choose to play this Megaways game from Red Tiger? The answer is no. I played it simply because I had some balance left in my account after playing a few of other Red Tiger games, managed to maintain my balance more or less, so then I decided what the heck, might as well give this new Dragon's Fire game a try. I have played the normal version of the game not too long before this, but this Megaways version is a later addition. Hence, I gave it a try, despite the fact that I simply do not like playing on any Megaways game, not by the originator Big Time Gaming (BTG), not by any other games provider either. That's just me and my personal taste.
Needless to say, the only thing that I like about this game is its minimal starting bet of $0.10 per spin. Had it been needing $0.20 or more, I would definitely not have played it! Typically of all similar games, the 6 reels 7 rows game format makes all the symbols very tiny in size, and to overcome this, larger size symbols are introduced into the game for a better visual presentation. However, by doing that, the actual number of winning lines gets dramatically reduced with each additional big symbol in play on the reels, which then makes a mockery of the promised 117,649 ways to win (not many players realise that to get this maximum winning lines, all 42 symbols on the reels must be of the same small size only!). And this is the main reason why I simply don't buy any Megaways hype.
One more aspect that I simply hate about Megaways concept is the seabed bottom level win values of all the symbols. They are simply ridiculously and extremely low, needing wins with big multipliers just to get some decent winning amounts. In the base game, most payouts would be much less than the staked amount, and any wins without big multipliers simply would not deliver any decent wins. Getting a 5-of-a-kind win may not even pay 1x the staked amount! Most players are simply blinded by the 117,649 ways to win, but not me, never me.
Anyway, my first play session on this Dragon's Fire Megaways game luckily turned out to be quite okay. Whenever I play on such a game, I would set the minimum bet size per spin, set the maximum number of auto spins (usually 100) allowed, and I would then let the game run by itself, whilst I sit back in my chair, watching it from a slight distance away. I don't keep my focus on those damn tiny symbols (they're an eyestrain), so I would just see how many symbols get highlighted up and how much the win would pay. Needless to say, this is also why I get bored very quickly with Megaways games, simply because I don't ever pay much attention to it.
However, I must say that Dragon's Fire Megaways could actually be quite interesting to play. The Egg Multiplier can give up to a 10x win at any time, the Dragon's Fire random feature could throw in 2 or 3 Scatter symbols to trigger the free spins feature game, and the Wild Multipliers can go up to 20x too. But honestly speaking, I would prefer playing the standard Dragon's Fire version instead, without any of this megaways hype.

Dragon's Fire was one of the slots that made a breakthrough for Red Tiger into the iGaming industry. I think the game's insane x50 multiplier and 50 paylines together with a minimum bet of $0.10 per spin is every low roller's dream. With Big Time Gaming's Megaways engine embedded into this slot, the potential is insane, the game plays better than the original and if there is one thing I noticed – Red Tigers Megaways versions of online slots are not money eaters like iSoftbet for instance.
I can play Dragon's Fire Megaways and kill x70 of wagering easily, however, with Red Tiger and their Megaways, you can easily wait up to 500 spins to trigger a feature if you are lucky. Sounds bad right, well it still beats taking forever to bonus Bonanza from BTG.
Back to the slot, with 6 reels and up to 117 649 pay ways is a lot to help you with big winnings, however, you will never really see that 117 649 pay ways during base game or free spins, but re-triggers are very easy for extra spins.
The base game has a multiplier though and not just during free spins. If you manage to win on your current spin the multiplier increases and stays in place for the next spin. If you manage to win again, it goes up. If you have a losing spin the multiplier resets to zero.
You can trigger free spins by landing 2 scatters and then randomly the dragon can award the 3rd scatter or you can land 3 scatter symbols naturally anywhere on the reels to activate free spins. You are awarded 3 sleeping dragons and you pick one. You can be awarded anything from 8 – 25 free spins and with re-triggers, the same thing applies as well.
The nice thing about this slot is the multiplier that you have active during the base game carries over to free spins if triggered. So that means you can easily start free spins with a higher multiplier other than x1.
The dragon can randomly wake and come to the reels and award extra wilds for big wins or increase the multiplier with the dragon's eye – This feature is also available in the base game.
I am not sure what the maximum winning potential is on this release, however most Megaways from Red Tiger limit to x20 000. The slot is very good for wagering and I recommend you give it a try.
