Danger High Voltage is one more highly volatile game from Big Time Gaming (BTG), in the same category as Bonanza, playing with 6 reels but with only 4 rows, as opposed to Bonanza’s 8 rows. Whilst Bonanza offer a Megaways win feature, Danger High Voltage offers a 4096 ways to win instead, but with the same $0.20 minimum starting bet. Although there seems to be lots of players who are love-struck with BTG’s games, I’m not one of them. Don’t think I’ll ever be one either.

I have since come to terms and accept 5-reels 4-rows games, but have yet to like 6-reelers games, although it isn’t much different from its 5-reelers counterparts. What is more important to me though, is how good can the payouts be, which can be estimated simply by looking into its paytable and the win values of the symbols in play. Where Danger High Voltage is concerned, the symbols win values are not too bad, at least they are not in the extremely low category as in most other games.

The Wild symbols are non-paying, appearing either as a Wild Fire or a Wild Electricity wild reel, but only the Wild Electricity has an added advantage of a 6x multiplier. Getting 5 Scatters would pay a decent 100x the total bet, whilst the regular symbols would pay from 25x downwards. The Free Spins feature game comes in two choices – 15 free spins for the High Voltage mode, with random 11x up to 66x multipliers within a Wild Reel, and 7 free spins for the Gates Of Hell mode, with a randomly selected regular symbol transforming into a Sticky Wild symbol, a stack of which would add 4 more free spins. Only the High Voltage free spins game can be retriggered.

DISLIKED

Not only do I not like the 6 reels 4 rows format, I also do not like the overall presentation of the game. Although the graphics quality is acceptable, the background scenario is too bold and very distracting to the overlaying play area - that’s bad designing to me. Being a highly volatile game, the many dead spins and very low payouts in the base game play are only to be expected, but somehow, Danger High Voltage simply couldn’t hold my interest for long - I found myself wanting to quit playing the game as soon as possible! Nope, I didn’t and couldn’t get any decent wins from this game either, except for just that one time 108x win. I never played this game ever again.

I won a handsome amount off of 20/40p spins on my first few visits to this slot and thought it was a money making monster. The bonus game is amazing, if your luck is in. I won £67 off of a 20p game and £83 off of a 40p game after wagering less than £25 total from the start.

DISLIKED

On another few play through's I have returned little from £50 wagered. Today I span 582 times a total of £114 as I chased the elusive bonus game. When it dropped I won £4.88. The money was all earned from a casino sign up minus £10 of my own to activate a matched welcome bonus and so I kept going (re-spinning winnings also). Lesson learned, luck is everything. I won't come back to this game after hearing the bonus tune 39 times before it actually popped.

Thinking about this slot makes me think of Electric Six – Danger! I wonder how much was paid to the artist to feature the song in one of the slots. I am sure slot, however most probably totally worth it, as BTG makes its money back easily by players slotting it out of this machine.

When the game first released, I was very reluctant knowing the volatility of BTG slots then and never had the budget to take my chances. One day I had gotten $12 from the weekly races on videoslots and decided to play the slot. Triggered bonus within 10 spins and won a good amount, think it was x400 or something and I was impressed. Continued and upped my stakes and the empty spins started.

The game is played using a slightly unusual 6-reel game similar like raging rhino and has 4,096 ways to win. Although the base game can get a monster hit, this slot is all about the free spins feature. The base game has a normal wild symbol as well as a x6 multiplier wild. With that said its possible to get three x6 wild symbol in the same spin for the big win. The 1st reel symbols determine whether its big or mega or epic.

Land 3 or more crown scatter symbol anywhere on the reels and you would trigger the spins. You can choose either the High Voltage Spins or the Gates of hell.

- High Voltage free spins – You'll be awarded 15 free spins. You benefit from full wild reels and multipliers which can boost pay-outs by 11, 22, 33, 44, 55 or even 66x. Re-triggers are possible here too with unlimited free spins.
- Gates of Hell free spins feature - 7 free spins are on offer when you trigger this round. Watch out for the massive symbol reel which will choose 1 symbol which will become sticky throughout the free spins. You can re-trigger up to 19 free spins here.

We have seen the potential this slot has to offer, and the biggest win I saw was x15 500 in the High Voltage feature. I think gates of hell are more popular and biggest wins come from that, but also its highly volatile and ends up with bad bonuses. Up to this day I am still a bit confuse about which feature to pick. My average win on Gates is x50 - x100 but had bigger wins on the High Voltage feature.

Danger High Voltage is a game that I've been playing quite a bit, but especially recently. The first time I tried it was at Slotsfighter as at the time I wasn't really too experienced with Big Time Gaming slots and they were just becoming popular. I remember that none of the times when I triggered the bonus round during the tournament I'd get a decent win, while I had seen many other players winning truly incredible amounts.

I have to be honest, this is one of the rare games that I really like to play with sounds on as I love the song that plays. I also think that the design is very vibrant and appealing. The game has wild symbols which can pay quite well during base game and I think this slot is a good balance booster, when it is in a good mood. And that's quite important as from my experience, the bonus feature can be very difficult to trigger. Yes, you may think that it shouldn't be that hard as the scatters can be placed on any reels, but in reality I've had plenty of sessions of 500 spins where I can't trigger free spins round, therefore I'd say the game is high variance. Also, my latest winning screenshot comes from base game due to the fact that I had 2 wild reels with 6x multiplier with one of the highest paying symbols next to them.

But when it comes to the bonus rounds, it's always a bit difficult choice as there are 2 free spins bonuses to choose- High Voltage spins and Gates of Hell spins. Gates of Hell spins gives 7 free spins and chooses one of the games symbols that will turn into wilds, if appears in the 'gates' or slots center reels. From my experience, it can pay well if you get lowest paying symbols- letters, as they come up on the screen more frequently and the chances to get the 'gates' completely wild, is bigger. But then on the other hand, I'm always hesitant as the High Voltage feature gives 15 free spins and it has the wild reel multiplier that can go quite high up. But the danger here is the fact that the wild reel may not come up, or come up on a spin when there's no good winning combination therefore leaving you high and dry.

Overall I think this is a great game with a good win potential. I've seen many players winning huge on this slot while my biggest win so far has been 150x bet. Design and volatility is exactly my taste!
