Summary
Cat Wilde in the Eclipse of the Sun God is now an infamous series that we really like, and the expectation bar on this one have been set really high, luckily, it lived up to the expectations. The RTP is set to 96.22% and the high volatility with wins that can go up to x5500 your bet. If you played any of the games in the Rich Wild series or followed Cat on her previous adventure, then this is the slot you have to try.
Cat Wilde in the Eclipse of the Sun God is the latest instalment in the ever growing series of Rich Wilde's daughter-gone-explorer, and this time around Play 'n GO have chosen the rather lazy approach:
This is basically a souped-up version of the approx. 5 year old slot "Pearls of India", which is a 20 line "Gonzo's Quest-type-of-game". You have the cascading win mechanism, upping the win multiplier to a max. of 10x in the base game.
The main differences compared to the original are as follows: The max. multiplier in the bonus round is now a whopping 70x instead of 50x, and the max. amount of free spins is 40 compared to 30 on "Pearls of India". Also, the collecting feature, where you gathered 25 temple icons for a secondary bonus round on "Pearls of India", has been scrapped in this incarnation. This means increased volatility for the player, who can no longer count on the frequent "mini bonuses" to boost the balance.
Also, the primary bonus round, triggered by getting 3 Moon Goddess scatters, feels harder to land on "...Eclipse of the Sun God" compared to its predecessor. But it has no doubt pretty good potential, if you get a couple of re-triggers during to free spins. Each re-trigger gives you 5 more spins with an increased max. multiplier (it adds 10x with each upgrade).
I like the original quite a lot, and this souped-up version has the same type of gameplay, so by all logic I like this version too. And I appreciate, that it's not called "Rise/Doom of [insert name, location or title]" for once. It's becoming hard to differ between all these nearly identically named Play 'n GO outings.
No major dislikes, but as mentioned, the volatility has been upped quite a couple of notches compared to the original, "Pearls of India", by scrapping the collecting feature.
